This will be a controversial example, but hopefully we're capable of following the idea and not getting caught up in emotional reactions...

That punk who killed several people in a church is officially going to be executed. In one way, good. He's a piece of s*** who has zero remorse and is clearly f***ed in the head.

On the other hand, is it not a little...strange to you when you see all the people cheering over the decision? Not that it's hypocritical but just kind of... Idk. Acting like it's a celebration or something to see another human killed, even if what he did was f***ing wrong. Doesn't it feel like we're fighting fire with more fire? Doesn't it feel a little primitive to you? Morbid?

And as a society we never get to the "deeper" conversations to be had in situations like this. We never grow or learn from it, we just move onto the next day's trauma. It always stays kinda unresolved and pushed into the corners of the mind until something similar inevitably happens again. It's like a hellish cycle with zero self-reflection along the way.

Or am I the weird one?

Also, of course it's f***ing primitive to slaughter a group of innocent people in the first place. But I personally don't like the idea of doing what the "other" does just because it was done to us. Especially when we can recognize how wrong it was to begin with.

u overthinking it my boy. we’re animals at the end of the day. nothing wrong with acting off instinct sometimes.

  • Aug 27, 2021

You’re right, we would live in a healthier society if more people adopted this point of view.

i'm open to philosophy on the matter, but the way i see it, this dude should be slaughtered as some sort of consolation for his hatred he unleashed into the world

correct we're just floating on this big rock doing the best we can

i suppose there's an argument that being 'better' than your instincts is the next step to enlightenment or fulfilment or something

but who really cares? means nothing at the end of the day

Rather him rot in prison for the rest of his life than being left off the hook imo

Nobody should be allowed to take anybody's life

Who's to say that's a weird reaction to have? You do evil and vile things and people gonna be happy to see you in the dirt, been a common thing to see across human history

We slightly better at it compared to the way things was handled not long ago

Why are you giving this so much thought? Should people have been heart broken that Hilter killed himself instead of living on as a study into the human psychi?

If you put that guy out of the street, a mob would have murdered him anyway

Would I feel bad about it? No. I don’t see a reason too.

I can understand thinking bout it like this if you knew them before they became a deranged racist. You would Have known them when they were still innocent and feel bad about who they became and how it ended.

  • Aug 27, 2021

    to all the racists...

idk man what he did was not just wrong but deeply upsetting to the country. At any other point in history it would have been a public execution with a huge gathering. People want to see justice.

this is for sure as civilized as it could have been. Fighting fire with fire would have been shooting up him and his family that same day
