I guess really my ONLY reason for being against reps is when buying “hype” shoes on the 3rd Market (StockX, GOAT, eBay, etc)
I don’t wanna have a small doubt in the back of my mind that these shoes MIGHT be fake.
Like the 3 pairs of Yeezys I got in today from StockX. They 100% seem legit, but there’s always that small 1% chance they might be a good fake and that bothers me
Shady people that try to one up you when you just wonna make an honest purchase
And THATS my issue with reps. Which is a LARGE / most of the market
This is the reason to buy reps IMO
How old are you? I'm in college and I feel like everyone I know knows what a travis scott aj1 looks like and if we see someone wearing some we start assuming things
99% of sneakerhead couldn’t spot a fake on foot of a good rep

Oh i'm not talking about spotting fakes
I just mean if ppl see someone wearing a shoe that goes for $500, they will assume that person spent $500 on it
Especially if its a release I went for and took an L on

And if that person is wearing a fake, then they are misleading people to believe they are more wealthy than they are which is very sad
Also even if you hit a REALLY hype shoe like a travis aj1 for retail, it's definitely in your best interest to resell it, unless you're well off enough not to so its the same s***

That’s kinda silly thinking.
Unless it’s a Dior 1 or Air Mag or something crazy like that.

Of course. Resell it and buy a rep

I feel like thats the exact scenario in which its acceptable to get mad about a fake
I've seen like a dozen kids wearing trav aj1s on campus like no way all of them are legit
And imo more people buy fakes of shoes like that
You a troll bro I swear
What? That’s literally what a ton of people do
It’s the smartest thing to do.

The logical thing to do tbh

What’s sad is that the sneaker reselling business is so prominent that you assume someone is wealthy for wearing a pair of Nikes

Not every pair Although i did just learn af1s arent available in europe so maybe it is like that there

who told you that???
who told you that???
@kiddash3r Might just be where he is
That’s the point tho
All these people buying fakes and resale fakes DO LIE about it
A shady market attracts shady people
Good point. Also, if I was the one making the clothes, I’d be mad if I saw people rocking reps of my clothes, especially if I meant for them de pieces to be rare/desirable.
@kiddash3r Might just be where he is
They are available in Europe, its just that its hard to find them because this nerd buys them all where im from and resells them for 300%

F***ing unreal why would someone do that

It could also just be that the person likes the shoe and the color way but couldn't beat the bots and didn't want to pay resell.
Fake flexing is corny for sure but it's damn near impossible for regular people to just buy the drops they like now.

I used to be heavy into sneakers, I even did legit checks and stuff back on the old sole collector forums and I was pretty decent at legit checking a lot of older models.
If I can't take the shoe and look at it mad close or check the inside tag, it's virtually impossible to be 100% certain on the good fakes. The best fakes use the actual model and base stolen from the real factories and made them really well, it's gotten even better now and spotting very good reps from even a couple feet on foot is way too hard lol.
Fakes gotta be outrageously fake now to spot em on foot.

I think it's more of a problem when people buy a fake of a collector's item, imo a shoe that resells for more than a band
Because then at that point the person doesn't like the shoe, they just know that it looks like it's expensive
