It already is. No talented young creative wants to be a rapper anymore. Rap has devolved to the least creative among us finding easy stream niches and hoping for more than one songs worth of staying power.

there’s nothing bigoted bout pointing out a lot of these genres came from black people and white people appropriate black culture. rock for instance niggas said elvis the king of rock but he stole off black artists then only was popping cos he white

His smiley faces and comment just shows to me he thinks us blacks are superior. Regardless if we’re playing this it came from this genre, it was derived from this, etc then like greeks or egyptians or someshit created all these genres.

    rock- black( dont know origins)
    house - chicago(black)
    techno - house musics child
    disco - black
    soul- clearly black
country - ill give you that

    Country is black too

Someone said in this thread and I agree with them. A whole generation of kids got raised on listening to mainly hip hop it will be some time until hip hop goes down slippery slope like rock does. I predict hip hop going to have one more golden age (kinda like grunge did for rock) until it swindles down to shell of its former self

now you’re being pedantic and obtuse. i can tell you’re not black so that’s why you got so aggy at a harmless comment. all he did was point out that even if rap isn’t on top black people still the niggas that are being copied and it isn’t even just about genre it’s all the cultural aspects for instance aave or hairstyles like braids etc

  • Jun 16, 2021

    dust rap won

  • Jun 16, 2021

    It’s certainly possible

  • Jun 16, 2021

One thing I would love to see is survey on what my generation and I have funny suspicion that hip hop is number 1 most listen to genre

so why are you getting aggy on behalf of white folks when you can look at all the times they’ve stolen from black artists from pat boone to current day artists like billie eyelash? it’s not racist i don’t think you understand what racism is. racism is firstly not just on a societal level but also systemic too. when have black artists ever just straight up stolen from pink floyd lol

Whether its racist or not, it ain't harmful. they just celebrating the massive black influence on fashion, music and language rn and it's been that way for a while. Also we probably biased because that's the culture we enjoy

I’m not aggy, I’m just trying to hold him accountable a lot of us (blacks) are racist and the reason for conflict. His comment had 0 relevance to the topic lol AT ALL. Racist = thinking your race is superior, which is what he thinks. Why do we call it stealing? Why can’t whites just be appreciating our music and replicating it. Us blacks are the roots for a lot of our problems.

accountable for pointing out facts lol? racism isn’t stating that black artists get stolen from which is true and that black peoples have been the blueprint for all the music out rn. we call it stealing cos pat boone didn’t put no black artists on that he stole from. appreciation isn’t what you claim it is why you twerking for whites

Drake makes radio songs “he sucks, he just tries to make catchy pop songs for radio plays”
Drake makes lyrical rap songs that don’t get much radio time “I haven’t heard any of those songs on the radio”

No one criticizes Drake for making radio songs lmao

I literally said those 3 songs were good
