no TDE has always had a good eye for talent (except reason idk what they were thinking with that guy) and promoted her well

that being said there’s still a major disconnect between how the media talks about most female rappers and how well their music actually performs (ex. megan selling “only” 60k coming off of a #1 diss record, k pop collabs, in the media constantly)

  • Dec 21, 2024

Y'all used to complain about TDE not promoting their artists

    Smacked Voodoo

Okay...where were they at with their job when She/Her/Black B**** dropped? They did her like they been doing Zacari and Lance Skiiiwalker lol

    you’re missing the context that

    • that project was only 5 songs
    • the title is hard to market and most non-black people would be uncomfortable saying it
    • what it is was a smash hit that would obviously lead to her getting a bigger budget (+ more marketing)
    • the year kendrick has had boosts the notoriety of everyone at tde and pglang
    • when you’re trying to build an artist, you don’t shoot your load early, you want to slowly rise their career, tde has shown that’s their model

it makes perfect sense that this project would get the bigger push, it’s exactly what they were supposed to do

  • Dec 21, 2024

when a brand new artist catches one and gets a half a billion streams, you better believe the label is gonna put more money into the next project

if they didn’t, we’d all be crying foul. i feel like the fans be angry when labels do what they’re supposed to do (and what we ask them to do)

  • Dec 21, 2024

there has definitely been a push since Balloon dropped

but that’s ok because she’s actually good and deserved the recognition anyway

    insertcoolnamehere

threads like this that remind me that it's a really small percentage of KTT'ers that are actually in the music industry and that most people that make these kind of threads and just post don't really know how s*** works but just assuming

i be seeing stuff and wishing people would alter their approach from trying to assume/accuse/complain their way to a conclusion and instead just seek out some information to learn

i love talking about music and the processes but a nigga gets ignored every time i don’t align with certain theories and narratives lmao

  • Dec 21, 2024

    People like her music

When any other dumbass “artist” catches on it’s cool and natural but when someone who actually raps and has depth to their music catches on it’s a conspiracy. Gotcha

    NewCopeJustDropped

what agenda exactly is being pushed with her? Why is it always some conspiracy when it
Involved black artist that get successful?

You know how many white pop stars literally show up and win tons of awards and do hella numbers and no one has this energy

This. Thread should’ve been locked after this post f*** op

she been putting in the work for years

i seen ktt threads on her before she was with TDE

if there is an agenda, it's because she's a good artist and deserves it

She's really good with great versatility and a really well-curated visual aesthetic, plus she just got a feature on the new Tyler album, I think this perception on here comes from users not really checking out what female artists are doing so much

    what is her aesthetic lol

    stop with the buzzwords

    1. it's not "organic", but once again that's fine

    2. a lot of y'all ITT are genuinely on some "that one friend that's too woke" s*** in regards to any sort of criticism levied towards her

like CHILL it's not that deep i promise

Instead of just dropping the project then moving to the next, promoting the project whatever the marketing team can do media wise after the project been released is the best approach for new artists and Doechii is proof of that

  • Dec 21, 2024

I want to like her and i loved her balloon feature but i think the music is not for me after hearing the album
