I think political correct culture had to do it I mean that got people to believe book smart was an actual funny movie when it wasn’t. Plus movie studios don’t want to make gamble on original funny movies anymore I mean for 5 years in the 2010’s I feel like we got nothing but Kevin hart teaming up with a bigger serious actor like the rock or ice cube. I also believe comedians aren’t really wanting to make movies anymore they’re more into doing stand up’s and shows. Come to think about it I feel like the last good comedy movies were thor ragnorak or Deadpool
This dude nailed it. Kevin Hart killed / destroyed comedy movies.

Dam I didn’t realise this would take the political correctness turn interesting takes tho
It just blew my mind to think that out of like the past 50 recent movies I’ve seen I’d guess like 1 was a comedy when i was in school it felt like there were 3-4 huge comedy movies everyone was obsessed with
Movies in general are fire atm & I guess I get my humour fix from podcasts/social media/books so i never really felt the void until now. Weird.
theyre the hardest movies to market globally because sense of humour changes so much with culture most studios arent trying to make movies that only do ok in america
Who has PC culture career ruined for y’all to believe that PC culture ruined comedy movies?
Idk about this whole argument but Superbad definitely could not get made today
S*** sucks. There are legit funny dudes out there on social media like Nileseyy Niles, Korporate Bidness, and Bigg Jah....but we out here getting movies where King Bach and Lilly Singh moving up the corporate ladder.
Bro those of us that grew up 2000-2012 we really got
The Will Ferrel movies
The Seth Rogen/Jonah Hill/James Franco movies
The Owen Wilson/Vince Vaughn comedies
The Ben Stiller movies
Then on top of those categories we got:
And I know I’m forgetting more holy f*** are you S***TING me?! All these in 12 years?
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

niles is on the atlanta writing team now right ??
I remember seeing some comedy in theaters back in 2017 with Bryan Cranston and James Franco that had me dead
I feel like most of the best comedy nowadays are either just tv shows or on streaming platforms
Comedy just isn’t good anymore
Best stuff is on YouTube at this point because that’s the only platform that isn’t afraid of the PC police anymore

Why not? I don’t remember anything in that movie that would make it hard to get made
