BanditoActually no. The majority of the planet would agree with.
Most people unfortunately are employees doing things they do not love to meet their basic needs. Doja job while I’m sure it has mundane annoying parts is exploring a craft she loves and has found high levels of success. Not many people have that luxury. If she doesn’t like it she can stop making music - no one is forcing her to make music. Her statement while it’s her reality is out of touch from the reality for the person who is forced to work a dead end job or the starving artist who is dying for an opportunity to be put on.
What do you do for a living?

Well, if you want to want to be a worldwide superstar, then a major label is a way to go, but it comes with a lot of sacrifices.
Me, I rather be known in the US, so I just take a independent label deal.

I would argue those artist you named had mental problems before becoming successful musicians. Music is often a outlet for these people as evident by their subject matter which touches on addiction and mental health. Could it have added to and caused pressure - of course. But to solely lay the blame on the music industry as the root cause for their pain is false.
For people like DMX his problems started way before music. One could argue that music saved his life. Where would DMX be without music, he was a homeless, d*** addict who robbed people for a living. He potentially would have died a long time before or been in jail.
If you are an artist who does not want the spotlight and does not want to deal with the pressure brought on by being a public figure you can release your music without doing all the internet antics. Granted your music may have less impact but then again should you care about success and impact if you only care about the art.
Ps. Every job has pressure if u can’t handle the pressure, quit and don’t b**** and complain. Especially if you’re making millions and can retire at any minute. People got their own problems.

Plus Donald went Gold and Platinum on Glassnote, so you can be a star being on a indie label, and still make a huge impact on the music business without doing any extra s***, but just making great music along with great art that the audience can gravitate to.
