Fred Hampton's Rainbow Coalition. Helped unite latin gangs and black gangs in Chicago (Since you wanna always pull the "lol you must be white" card anytime someone criticizes Chicago drill.)

If not for Edgar Hoover and the FBI being on that f*** s***, it would've been one of the biggest movements that the country ever seen.

You (and every other Umar d***rider in this thread that keeps criticizing this way of doing things) keep forgetting that everyone that's attempted to unite different cultures against white supremacy kept y'know...dying by the state.

Since they were seen as y'know....a threat.

Rome (which white Nazis seem to worship for some reason despite this), the continent of Africa, in regards to different groups and tribes, various Asian countries.

There's a whole list I can go down, please realize that this is not the way to go, this is the same rhetoric Nazis use to advocate for genocide of other groups, especially black people.

    Not even gonna address this.

Rome mainly consisted of white people with similar identities.

Africa isn't unified. You have different cultures within nations fighting because europe destroyed the cultural makeup of black people in Africa. You can't be unified as a continent if you aren't even unified regionally. The only thing unified about africa is the ignorance of people referring it to one group of people instead of a variety of cultures.

    Asia is not unified lmao

Rome wasn't entirely white people, they had different skin colors, it was just based on nationality and class relations back then, because the concept of race didn't exist yet. The concept of race was invented by European elites and aristocrats in the old days who wanted to divide white workers from allying with Black slaves during revolts.

Tribes were trading in pre-colonial Africa and they identified as that, rather than ethnic/national identities, so there wasn't a concept of that.

These early societies got along as well through trade relations and there was ethnic diversity at this time.

Different cultures get along, what you're doing is the same s*** nazis use when they say that Whites should rule America and everyone else should be kicked out, and they say they will, by any means necessary, including ethnic cleansing.

Race-based separation is wrong and only leads to more tensions to flare

The fatal flaw with the "black separatist" (fascist-aligned) ideologies that modern NOI/Tariq Nasheed/Umar/Garvey, etc. propose is that it isn't based on actual material a***ysis/dialectical materialism/anti-capitalism which are things based in reality, it's based off of blind hatred for other groups that's counter-productive and actually supports white supremacy, for example, NOI and some chapters of the NBPP have gotten along with Neo-Nazis and KKK chapters because they share the same goals and rhetoric (anti-semitism, anti-racemixing, proponents of "pure genes/bloodline" theories, anti-LGBTQ, etc) . White racists will use examples of these individuals to discredit the civil rights movements/BLM. That video that just came out today was being used by alt-righters/conservative figures to get at black people, as well.

I really hate these narratives that are taking shape again because it's honestly counter-productive and dangerous, and I hate seeing this s*** get pushed because it helps no one.

They do say good stuff sometimes, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I know people ITT will call me "anti-black" or "racist cac" in bad faith for saying this, but I know I'm not really wrong.

@insertcoolnamehere is absolutely right in his criticisms.

could be that I haven't seen enough of his content; but the "hatred" in this specific interview seems to be directed towards the system itself (white supremacy). and i mean the entire video not just the clip posted in OP.

most of what umar is saying is not for anyone else but black people - holding our own community accountable, and encouraging us to take action in changing the narrative that exists about our people. he even briefly discusses the self-hatred that black people often experience when trying to understand their racial identity

i fundamentally disagree with him on a few things but overall I don't see an issue with the main points he makes. maybe I need to do more research though

could you explain a bit more about the "blind hatred" that your describing. i might be misunderstanding fam

It's hard to really find accurate data on the racial makeup of Rome back then but most studies still conclude a majority of Rome was white. I get your point about the concept of race not existing yet but it's not like there wasn't separation. The roman empire did have different cultures but there isn't any data to suggest these cultures lived in harmony with each other and were integrated. They were separate and free trade helped to spread the cultures around but that's damn near just the equivalent of china trading with nigeria.

The "blind hatred" I'm speaking about is that when you base your entire liberation ideology on rejection of every other out-group and not actual a***ysis of things like I explained in my original posts ITT, it leads to nothing, and only leads to "self-eating" destruction and it will tear itself apart because ethnostatist fascism is incoherent and feeds on dividing everyone on traits and dehumanization of outsiders of the in-groups, which leads to elimination of the out-groups. It's not based in actually dismantling the system of white supremacy and freeing all people under the boot of it.

I understand the words of empowerment he shares to people, but if he isn't incorporating every black person into it, it's meaningless (based on his history of outright rejecting LGBTQ people and others who may not fall into his purview as "real" black people)

It's hard to watch the same s*** that Nazis promote getting pushed by marginalized groups with a different name on it, thinking it will lead to a better future, when it won't, and will only lead to inevitable self-destruction

gotchu! i can only speak from the perspective of a straight black male so it's important to see how others perceive what he's saying. from my POV i only understood his main objective to be for black people to have more ownership and rely less on others. by doing so, you come to love and respect yourself and know your worth in society.

again, hard disagree with any views he has regarding homophobia, racism, interracial dating, and sexism. i believe all people are equal, but i would be naive to think most other people share those core beliefs; which is why I understand where he's coming from in regards to sticking with your "group". for example, historically, black people have been targeted for dating interracially.

i also think comparing the rhetoric of a man belonging to such a marginalized group to the Nazis is..wild.

the main point seems to be about understanding the power of the black dollar ($$$) which is the only real power anyone has in a capitalist society, no?

Everytime he spoke on the gay community he called them "sexually confused" and said very great quotes such as literally saying homosexuality supports eugenics (I'm deadass):

arguing that people are born gay supports eugenics

    and more like...

I believe people are exposed to it, I believe they can be manipulated into it, I believe they can be socialized into it

I don't need to look at the studies of Harvard, Yale, because my personal experience with them directly shows 95% of gay men have been sexually molested (which aint just a dumb thing to say, but it also is a slap in the face in most studies in the field that say sexual abuse isn't linked to sexual orientation 1in6.org/get-information/myths )

Also, there are pre colonial records of homosexuality within Africa. Ancient Egypt had very liberal concepts of sexuality and gender lmfao. Hell the widely known "two-spirit" in Native American communities is proof that sexuality wasn't as rigid in pre-colonial times across the world as conservative thinking would like you to think.

I completely understand what you're saying man. I have no issue with the independence and wealth-building and general empowerment stuff. That's absolutely great, there should be power in the black dollar and for the people to prosper, mostly independent of white people (this is what the Latino and Asian communities have achieved for their own). I also completely understand the stance you have on interracial stuff and "sticking with your own" as that has played a huge aspect in oppression historically. My issue is that how hotep-types will call people who choose to date interracially "c***s" or race-traitors. Umar will hit well on a topic than segways what he just said into some wild s***.

My nazi comparison comes from the fact that these groups will share the same goals and rhetoric, for the most part and they sympathize with each other. Hotep ideology seems to re-create the same patriarchal hierarchy of the fascist white supremacist stuff but with hotep black men at the top, who have interest in oppressing the lower people who would be considered out-groups "who aren't real black people" (mixed-race people, LGBTQ+ people, etc.), it's discriminatory and divisive and it tends to share parallels with Nazi ideology.
