Technically he hasn't mastered it. It's just labeled Mastered UI. We honestly don't know what's going to happen because UI isn't triggered like Super Saiyan with rage. Goku in the final panel has the look he did when Frieza killed Krillin. Goku doesn't know how to tap into MUI so Merus is giving him that push. Either Goku will go rage mode or he'll contain himself and enter MUI.

Also Moro isn't crippled strength wise, he just can't use the copy ability anymore, which was broken.

Destroying his copying abilities is crippling him

He possibly could of just lost all abilities he just stolen, we don’t know yet... And plus that’s his strongest ability... Why you think Merus took it out?

Moro was already OP without 7-3's copy ability. That ability had to be dealt with because it just seemed like Toyo or Toriyama wrote themselves into a roadblock. It was no way to beat him as long as he had the spirit separation technique and Piccolo's techniques. Even MUI would have still been ineffective against him with that ability.

Either Goku was going to figure out how to destroy his crystals or Merus was going to come in. I liked the idea of Merus coming in and fighting with a weapon instead of the usual laser beams.

Goku will probably unlock it but still won't know how to access it without more training.
