Every damn arc another new hair color transformation, too much man, too much
Don't watch or read
How did it make Vegeta and Frieza into Joke characters?
Honestly Super has probably fleshed Vegeta out and made his character more deeper than "I'm the prince of Saiyans, I hate Kakarot, trains and don't get much stronger"
Frieza has ALWAYS been comedic relief all the way back to his introduction when he blushed at the Ginyu Forces roll call.
Vegeta had great development during the Battle of Gods arc but everything after that was trash. Vegeta in Super for the most part behaves like a caricature of himself
And Frieza hasn’t always been comic relief. He just had minor comedic moments but he was still a very scary villain during the Frieza arc
I will probably like Superhero tho bc my favorite character Piccolo finally gets some shine

Piccolo hive
This s*** ridiculous bruh. Super should’ve just been the Battle of Gods and Broly movie. Everything else doesn’t even remotely carry the soul that DB had. Super turned Vegeta and Frieza into a joke character and most of the transformations in Super really boring and there are too many of them
amen, should ended with z.

Wait whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?! So his character development in the Goku Black arc wasn't good? We finally got to see him show emotion for adult Trunks. Something he struggled with during the Android saga. Vegeta finally accepting that being selfish as
a fighter during the ToP arc isn't good development? Him realizing that Ultra instinct isn't his style so he developed his own version isn't good?!? Vegeta has been the ONLY character to really get character development. He's been the best part of Super. To say he's a shell of himself is a flat out lie. Everything after BoG has built on from that arc. Anybody that's a DB fan would tell you this.
Frieza has absolutely always been a comedic relief villain, the same can be said for all the Z villains. Toriyama's writing style always mixed seriousness and comedy for his villains. The English dub ruined a lot of this. Frieza was terrifying, yet managed to be funny as well. That's why he's still Toriyama's best written villain from Z.
But like I told the other guy don't read it if you don't like it the current Dragon ball product isn't meant to be super deep. It's just sell merchandise.
dbz go hard
“The only real fix to the power level problems of DBZ is to do a shakeup on the level that introducing Stands to Jojo did, as it completely levels the playing field. And that just won’t happen given the fact that DB is almost 40 years old and the current strategy still sells merch by the bucketload”
I think this is actually a wonderful premise
No way in hell 90 year old Toriyama or Toei invalidate transformations the way Jojo’s did Hamon, or resets power levels like they did in the new universe, but it would be amazing.
Just got home from seeing DBS:SH in imax and it was f***ing incredible. Theater was into it and the big screen was so much better than watching the bootleg. Idc I’m just a fiend for dragonball man
Yall think Dragon Ball will still be ongoing either in anime or manga format like 50 years from now? On some Star Wars s***, it's a money printing machine, but idk feel like future generations won't be connected with it so much and they'll put it to rest

Woulda been a far more interesting follow up to z, get back to strategy, team ups and unique techniques instead of just "whoever has the higher power level wins"
Random but do y’all watch dbz/super subbed or dubbed
dubbed is the way to go
the english voices are too iconic

Did you suddenly forget the Tournament of Power ?

Super had a few such moments here ans there, I also liked them fighting in teams against black and zamasu at the same time in the arc before
I'm talking more just in general, would negate the needs for brand new transformations outta nowhere every single major fight
Post Broly movie I’ve been digging the manga a lot because I’m still intrigued on where Goku and Vegeta end up personality wise
Goku: From the anime you’d thing “oh goku another power up and saves the day” but he’s been getting his ass whooped and Whis really made it known he’s not even close to him/Beerus and that his true Ultra “instinct” is to embrace his Sayian blood like Vegeta has in order to increase his power which he did in this arc with this new form
Vegeta: Gets a valuable teaching moment with Beerus and we get even more of a peek into his psyche
Even though he knows his people deserved to die for their actions, he still feels guilty for being apart of that same clan. In the Moro arc he says he’s going to hell for what he did on Namiek even after saving their lives this time around
Beerus literally beats out of him and teaching him (in a way) Ultra Ego. F*** the past and destroy what’s in front of you
Once that form is at its peak , Vegeta knows he isn’t that same d***head we met during the Sayian Saga and accepts his fate because that evil is gone.
TLDR: Goku is learning to accept his past and learning this techniques in his own way with it, Vegeta is learning to evolve from his past and finally let go of his burdens
Spoilers from the movie: Vegeta learns that Jiren wasn’t that much stronger than him and Goku he was just more focused and what I mentioned prior to both of their egos is what holds them back. Him and Goku fight and Vegeta wins

UE & UI are the only transformations I think were perfect for Vegeta’s / Goku’s character arcs after SSB so I get what you mean

As long as it sti prints money, yes. DB is a corporate anime now.

Again.........
Transformations are only being introduced because they sell merchandise. Dragon Ball is no longer a series dedicated to making a great story. It's just creating a story that will introduce new powers to sell as merchandise. It's been this way for the last 25 years. Ever since the Buu saga introduces like 3 different Buus, 3 different Super Buu forms, SSJ3 Goku, SSJ3 Gotenks, Gotenks Ghost attack, Ultimate Gohan, Majin Vegeta, Trunks and Goten SSJ, Vegito, etc.
