Earth and Earthlings’ technology often get overlooked in DBZ since it's considered "backwater" in the DB solar system but they’re some of the smartest people in the universe. Dr. Gero created androids that could rival Super Saiyans, Dr Briefs invented gravity training which could go up to 500x earth’s gravity, and he also made a interplanetary spaceship in like a week.

If honestly given time the Earthlings could advance to the level of society and tech rivaling the Tuffles.

the movie was fine imo, nothing special.
the animation style wasnt as bad as I thought it'd be, much better at the theatre than the trailer would lead you to believe.
movie just felt like a better version of that bio broly movie from ages ago.
don't recommend watching in 4DX imo, that is a horrible gimmick and got highkey tiring after 30 mins with the shaking seats.

Saw the movie yesterday and it is the best DB movie they made since Battle of Gods and even above it imo. The new style allowed for the best DB action we have seen animated so far. The movie had a lot of heart and humor like the old DB i love. Piccolo and Gohan having their moments together was great. Seeing Pan learning and Goten, Trunks, Krillin on the sidelines. First time in a while that DB hasn’t felt like the 'Goku and Vegeta' show

Actually, just reread it in one go and I have to say that I think it was a lot better than I had remembered. While it didn't necessarily progress much plotwise once the battle on planet Cereal starts the characters' turmoil becomes pretty apparent. In the beginning both Goku and Vegeta are told to struggle with different aspects of their character, which makes them fail mastering their respective forms. Yet they overcome it with that Bardock flashback, which is something Gas substantially lacks. Gas' main motivation is to fulfill his brother's plan yet Granolah, Vegeta and Goku are far more well-rounded personalities who actually thrive in power once they realize how to better stick to their own true nature. Granolah coming to terms with the way his world is now and not being trapped into that endless cycle of revenge anymore, Goku realizing that his emotions and own convictions are part of what makes him such a force to begin with like back when he fought against Frieza on Namek. Yet somehow infusing with a natural realization of Ultra Instinct. aka his own personal instinct. Vegeta not having to atone for all the sins the Saiyans committed because he isn't responsible for anything that happened. Ironically, Beerus calls this self-centered, which leads to his new form called Ultra-Ego. Gas never realized any of this for himself. His Berserk mode, which he mastered later, was a stepping stone but the way he did it was via his brother's commands as well as reliving his trauma from losing to Bardock. Him dying because of him never realizing his own self is one of the best parts of that story arc imo. Only in the end he starts to get a glimpse of what is going on but it's way too late and Frieza killing him in such a brutal manner just makes it such a dark story in terms of graphic but also story.

Also, Bardock's wish is also a bit ironic when compared to what happened between Goku and Radditz but as well as the relationship between Gas and Elec being also influenced by a Dragon Ball wish.

Then you have some amazing fight scenes. The parts when Gas goes Kinshiki mode or later when they seemingly take down Gas via Goku's Susanoo etc..

Ultra Ego is a very cool form that actually performed better than I remembered. Especially when compared to UI in this arc.

Black Frieza is awesome (one thing I've noticed was the oracle fish asking who that was one Goku teleoported Gas to them and Whis acting surprised. I guess this was quite the foreshadowing for Frieza.)

There is a lot that only becomes apparent thematically once you reread it.

As for the downsides imo, the actual plot still falters a bit towards the end when it feels a bit like the fighting is too much. I guess it's mostly due to the chapter structure of one being 45 pages and playing out similar to an episode here. It often feels as if Toyo just wasn't sure how to pace them accordingly between chapter 83-85 (maybe change locations more and one twist more idk). However, I hope that it will be more entertaining in the anime. Then again, I wouldn't underestimate Toei in ruining the pacing even more here. Just stick true to the manga here and make the fight scenes rather quick as well as reduce them a bit and you'd have a much tighter arc that wouldn't disappoint so many people.

The villains could have been a bit better. His schemes are interesting but Elec has too little presence. I guess that Gas could have been more interesting to many if Elec would have been fleshed out a bit more.
