Last year we had DQ Monsters announced on Dragon Quest Day. We got a full reveal and date a couple weeks later. So I'm sure the same will happen here

Yep this is definitely going to be shown at the upcoming Nintendo Direct in June (Switch is the lead platform for Dragon Quest after all).

Many are pointing out that the trailer and initial tweet doesn't specify "Dragon Quest 3" as well.
This, along with Yuji Hori comments g that they want to do the whole original trilogy a few years ago, + how long we went with 0 news, is leading me to believe that they may surprise us and announce that it's DQ 1-3 being remade and packaged together

DQ1 holds up surprisingly well imo. excited to see it modernized

I heard overwhelmingly negative things about those mobile ports on Switch; that’s why I never copped them

This potential HD-2D trilogy finna be a day-one cop, which hopefully will turn out successful enough for them to remake 4, 5, 6 as well!

I played the mobile port. still fun. but graphics are ugly as sin imo. Would have honestly preferred them keeping the NES graphics and change nothing over what they did.

But all 3 will be GOATd in Hd-2D

It’s confirmed bro. Yuji Hori said on DQ Day 2021 that 1 and 2 remakes exist and will have new surprises added. A square enix employee played a horn to try and get him to stfu

It's not confirmed. His exact quote was that "we want to remake 1&2 as well, but nothing is set in stone yet".

I 100% believe that we are getting the whole trilogy. But wanted to clarify it's not official confirmed yet, and Yuji Horii didn't exactly say that it was in the works at that time

Heads up. But I don't think the trilogy is going to release in the manner that ppl are expecting, and I can already see ppl getting pissed.

When Square Enix released the Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remasters, they didn't release it as a single game. They released them all separately with them totally at $80ish.

Keep in mind. These are full on remakes. Not just simple remasters.
If Square made us pay separately for the FF Pixel Remasters, I'm sure they'll do the same for HD-2D Remakes.

Thus, I'm strongly believe this isn't gonna release on a single disc, for $60. I imagine we'll get something like
DQ1 | $25
DQ2 | $25
DQ3 | $40
With a Bundled Edition at like $90.
Personally I don't mind to much since these are gonna be straight remakes.
But I'd be shocked if this isn't how Square releases it
