just gimme an earthbound, chrono trigger and golden sun series remake with dis style bro
copped the switch version and i’m about an hour in. so far im really enjoying how charming the game is
Wouldn't it make sense to release 1 and 2 first? I want to play but I don't want to start with 3.
if i’m just getting into the series would yall suggest this or 11?
8
more difficult to play tho right? i’m not an emulation person
Worth the trouble havent played the 3 remake but 11 is a great game too. A little tedious at times

11 is fine it doesn't relate to any previous entry to my knowledge. Was my first DQ.
You can play DQ1/2 on mobile too. They're short like under 10 hours if you just wanted to knock that out. You don't HAVE to play them first though.

Nah you should play 3 before 1 and 2. There’s a reason they released 3 first. I can’t say more without getting into spoiler territory

Either tbh. But ideally it’s best to play 3 first. 11 references that game multiple times and not in an easter egg way.

If you're getting into the series for the first time my sincere recommendation as someone who played through every single game in the series in order this year...
Play them in order. There is a lot to be gained from doing so. Now is the perfect time with them remaking 1-3, 4-6 already having stellar DS ports, 7 having an excellent remake, 8 being available on PS2 and DS, 9 being available on DS, 10 having a fan translation on PC, and 11 being everywhere.
That being said, 3 and 11 have a connection. Similarly, so do 1-3. Other connections in the series are more subtle. I think even if you choose to play 11 and want to continue following the series, you should continue from 1 when the remake releases. The games have truthfully not modernized that much with the recent entries so it won't feel like you're going back and playing some ancient, unwieldy stuff. Especially with the QoL stuff being added in these remakes.
My personal favorites are 4, 6, 7, and 10. Not a big fan of 1-3, 5, or 9.

i hear you on this, but i don't have the time to invest in all of that emulation/hunting down old hardware.
I've heard 5 is stellar tho

I feel you. Emulation is pretty straightforward these days but if you don't wanna mess with it starting with this remake then jumping into 11 (or waiting for 1-2 remakes) is perfectly fine.
You will enjoy 11 MUCH more if you play it after 3
Personally I'm still confused why they started the remakes with 3. The trilogy aspect of 1-3 is the coolest part of those games

goootcha thank u
I'm just looking for something to play on the couch or in bed or smth

3 is a prequel to 1 and 2
if i’m just getting into the series would yall suggest this or 11?
Start with 11’
Dont worry about the order. There are connections between the games, but they really don’t matter unless youre already invested in the series lol.
11 is the newest mainline game, and is easiest to get into. As well as the most easily accessible.
I disagree with everyone saying you need to play 11 1st. Now that im playing 3 for the time i am now understanding the DQ3 references in 11. but when i played DQ11 having no knowledge of DQ3 didnt ruin the experience, or make it hard to understand lol. 11 just pays homage to older games. But not playing the doesnt confuse you
If you enjoy 11, all of them are very good. Just play whichever one piques your interest.
I just wouldnt recommend 3(or the up and coming 1+2 remakes) for a complete newcomer..
These games are NES games at heart. Theyre still great, but i think a newer game is best for a newcomers 1st experience

while true it's kinda wack that they eliminated that reveal. It was a really cool aspect of 3 when it's revealed.

according to Yuji Horii they'll do something else in 1+2 to make the experience of playing 3 first matter

thatd be cool. wonder what itll be. I really didnt like 1-3 (played the original versions) but that reveal was very cool
