Drake has it all, he can rap and sing like no one did before and combined it perfectly for three albums in a row, being Take Care, Nothing Was The Same and If You Reading This It's Too Late. He set the bar for every rapper in the game, but even more for himself. Views was different and an album i really liked, but it took some time for the music heads to appreciate it. The reason for this was just the immense hype no album could ever satisfy. More Life was the perfect successor to Views. But after that, he tried to redo the TC, NWTS or IYRTITL era and wasn't evolving as an Artist. Scorpion had the biggest hits ever for him, so it was the mainstream album for a lot of music fans, but they were expecting something new, something fresh for CLB, but he is just doing the same thing that worked beside some exceptions. I can understand that with Scorpion or CLB a lot of music heads are not that pleased. But all are really great albums, every album from Drake would be the best album for every new gen rapper. It's just we know he can do better. And the rest of the hate is just because he is the most popular musician in the world but let's be honest still nobody deserves it more than Drake right now. He just set his bar too high. What i really don't understand to this day is the hate during the Take Care and Nothing Was The Same Era (Drake is soft and s***)

Drake albums are sloppy bro. His albums slap and all but with the exception Take Care, NWTS, and maybe half the songs on views he’s no where near in the same league as the “foward thinking artist” like Ye, Kendrick, Frank etc when it comes to ATTENTION TO DETAIL. He’s shows flashes here and there but he can’t sustain it throughout the course of the entire album anymore.

He def should be able to, the talent is definitely there, the resources are there, he can rap his ass off and he sings better than any other rapper. He’s just f***ing lazy man. He chose to be that way.

Y’all have no ear for production/mixing decisions such as a particular snare or kick being fire or there being some dope ass distortion on an instrument or vocal or a particular synth sounding amazing, etc. Or on the other end of the spectrum a lot of yall have no concept of an arrangement being cliche, safe, or predictable. That’s what Drake music has been for a long time. It doesn’t challenge the listener at all.
