They have literally been top 3 of our generation for 10 plus years and counting. The accomplishments and accolades from the 3 of them and impact they’ve made just proves it. How many other rappers can you say have been on top that long? Can only name a couple others. Kanye, Hov, Wayne, Em, Nas (kind of), Pac and Biggie would have, other then that there really hasn’t been anyone that has had a run like the 3 of them for that long of a time.
if your post just said "recency bias" I would have f***ed with it more
If we wanna say since 2014 I’m pretty confident Cole will still be pretty well regarded in 2024 lol.
If he misses again its a wrap
Oh you one of them "popularity=quality" guys. Carry on
There’s this belief that less popularity equals to great quality and that’s pretty bullshit too.
okay but Future albums > Cole albums
They’re 2 completely different artists???
It’s like comparing Wu Tang to Lil Wayne
F***
I was going to say your opinions are irrelevant but I can’t say that now cause of Robin
Nami slander
You know why people anticipated 2014 FHD?
Born Sinner
It wasn’t as anticipated before release as it was celebrated after release. There’s a reason 4YEO did more fw than FHD.

Nah bro I remember vividly people losing their S*** because J Cole announced FHD out of nowhere

I'm just saying y'all love to compare eras around here using numbers. As if the streaming rules didn't completely change the game lol or y'all really believe songs like "The Scotts" and "Toosie Slide" were bigger, more popular songs than "CTMN' or "NIP" or "Hotline Bling"?

Whoever tries to downplay FHD is just fooling themselves. Album is top notch and everybody went crazy the week it dropped. Legendary.
Drake is the only one that would be a star in the 00s tbh. Kendrick and Cole would be Mos Def/Talib Kweli tier tbh ducks
Disagree with the Kendrick point. He’s proven he can make hits in the pop rap/pop lane

Didn't say that either. I mean even without streams we can pretty much say that Drake was eating all of these guys cakes by how much he used to sell and tour.

That's because drake would be an r&b artist...not a rapper.

I mean he's Nelly 2.0 so he would be doing something similar probably

He wouldn’t be a star as a pure r&b artist. His best talent is rapping 100%
Eating all these guys cakes

Hed be a male aaliyah in the 00s. Hed have a better chance being a star for r&b than for rap
