Don’t need verification to withdraw either lol @LegitAlpha
You can put a dollar amount on it, even less than 1% is still morally inept
Dude every business on earth works like that. What is Stake supposed to do, spawn money for Drake.
Customer spending (losses) go to the business (endorsers)…
Op just answer this question
Is Aubrey doing anything illegal?
If not then let him cook.
The further point is anyone can buy and own crypto and fund their wallets that way. No need for the Stake process.
The Stake process is gambling itself though? there is nothing new with the model besides introducing crypto. An entity is always in possession of the funds for a wager

You think Stake is the only company with an affiliate code (that literally “relies” on others money/lost money)?

He’ll get into legal trouble in the future for promoting this most likely
US will come after stake just like they did with other gambling sites & more recently bitmex

There’s different regulations for different countries i believe. Canada is pretty lax with it, which coincidentally 2 of the big streamers mentioned in OP moved there to receive the sponsorships. Another moved to Mexico for the same reason.
The world is Ameri-centric so this doesn’t matter to a lot of people. Apparently there are no easily influenced kids living in Canada or other countries with less restrictions

Which country did you put in lol? I tried making an (Canadian) account and it asked for verification.
As I said earlier yeah that’s stupid, but also in order to deposit money (crypto) you’ll need to provide identity.
I been saying Drake was scummy for promoting gambling. I don't even need to know that the company extra shady, just that enough.
Y'all wanna call Trav a sellout for doing McDonald's meal when this is 100x worse and Drake needs the money even less.

Everyone is doing it so it’s ok is not an argument for morality. Especially when it’s targeting a younger fan base that once again wouldn’t even be interested if it wasn’t for the Drake promotion. That point is more skewed to the big streamers doing this but seeing as Drakes fan base has always been and will continue being the younger generations, it’s completely relevant to him too

There was no legality ever mentioned. Just morals and ethics towards promoting a historically degenerative addiction.
Again, gambling addiction* has a 20% suicide rate.

Its not about everyone doing it or not… it’s about how business works. Someone has to “lose” something (money) for someone to “make” something (money). That’s how everything on earth works.
Nothing that Drake is doing (from my knowledge) is illegal. You wanna say he’s a bad human for promoting gambling go ahead, but if that’s the case then every celebrity is a bad human. Almost all of them promote bad s***, maybe some isn’t bad to you, but it’s still promoting a bad behavior.

I know you want to just keep writing it off as business is business. But there’s levels to it. Gambling business is a seriously degenerative business. It literally destroys peoples lives.
McDonalds sells 1.49 hamburgers but still satisfies a need
Coca Cola sells liquid sugar but still satisfies a need
American Airlines burns a hole in the ozone layer but still satisfies a need
What does a gambling business do for anyone?

Give them the hope to make money, let them release dopamine, idk, not much, and I never said gambling was a good thing (not sure anyone will debate that)
McDonalds/bad eating is probably a bigger disaster and cause of death than gambling.
People are already “exposed” to gambling, alcohol, d****, etc. If Drake doing it/promoting it makes them do it, I don’t see how you could (damn near fully) blame Drake and paint him as some terrible person. 🤷♂️

Gambling is literally designed for you to lose. “The house always wins” is not just a saying, it’s the design. The mindset of trying to make money from it literally fuels addiction. By mentioning dopamine release you literally just namedropped any addiction out there. That’s wild
There’s literal death from McDonalds induced diabetes and then there’s life, family ruining behavior from gambling addiction. Gambling addiction will go on for years and years.
You’re admitting that it’s bad while simultaneously saying “eh it’s okay if Drake wants to do it”
Cmon

Gambling needs to be restricted to certain age groups (not sure what the rules are in the US/Canada). You should be old enough to make up your own mind, not judging someone who’s getting a bag/s.
I hate gambling, but if the deal lucrative to him, he can do it and it’s people deciding whether they want to spend their own money.

Gambling is bad… I never disagreed on that. I know that first hand very well. I think that Drake “promoting” something (that’s bad) for personal gain, doesn’t really make him a bad person. If that’s the case there’s way more bad people on earth than I thought.

I think we are on the same page to some extent tbh but my research and understanding on it is the affiliates are getting paid an arbitrary % from traffic to the site which by definition = funds deposited to the site via affiliate code which inherently = losses to the player.
Even if it’s just 1% it’s still morally wrong.
I don’t personally believe Drake is a bad person for this but it’s a bad look from a moral/ethical perspective

Bad look, bad person, is fair to say. I don’t think this is black & white. I just disagree with whoever thinks that, I don’t think they’re dumb or anything.
The company makes money off peoples losses, the affiliate codes brings it “pennies” in relativity. I think you’re emphasizing that too much to be honest.
Drake is getting an upfront RIDICULOUS bag, I genuinely think this could be anywhere from 100M+ to like equity in the company.
Yeah they should
Let Aubrey earn his money. It’s literally not his responsibility if people start gambling lmao
Ignorant take. Gambling activates the same dopamine response as d**** and alcohol and can be just as addictive. The rates of self-harm and suicide due to gambling only continue to skyrocket. I’m not against gambling at all, I do it a lot, but it’s irresponsible to knowingly promote it to a young audience with no disclaimers about the risks. It’s predatory because these streamers usually only showcase the wins or if they lose they have deep enough pockets to chase until they win. That’s not the case for your average gambler. And of course the younger someone starts gambling the quicker they become desensitised and need to gamble bigger amounts to get the same thrill. People are responsible for their own choices, yes, but they’re also influenced by what is normalized in their culture
