There’s different regulations for different countries i believe. Canada is pretty lax with it, which coincidentally 2 of the big streamers mentioned in OP moved there to receive the sponsorships. Another moved to Mexico for the same reason.

The world is Ameri-centric so this doesn’t matter to a lot of people. Apparently there are no easily influenced kids living in Canada or other countries with less restrictions

Nothing that Drake is doing (from my knowledge) is illegal. You wanna say he’s a bad human for promoting gambling go ahead, but if that’s the case then every celebrity is a bad human. Almost all of them promote bad s***, maybe some isn’t bad to you, but it’s still promoting a bad behavior.

Gambling is bad… I never disagreed on that. I know that first hand very well. I think that Drake “promoting” something (that’s bad) for personal gain, doesn’t really make him a bad person. If that’s the case there’s way more bad people on earth than I thought.

I think we are on the same page to some extent tbh but my research and understanding on it is the affiliates are getting paid an arbitrary % from traffic to the site which by definition = funds deposited to the site via affiliate code which inherently = losses to the player.

Even if it’s just 1% it’s still morally wrong.

Ignorant take. Gambling activates the same dopamine response as d**** and alcohol and can be just as addictive. The rates of self-harm and suicide due to gambling only continue to skyrocket. I’m not against gambling at all, I do it a lot, but it’s irresponsible to knowingly promote it to a young audience with no disclaimers about the risks. It’s predatory because these streamers usually only showcase the wins or if they lose they have deep enough pockets to chase until they win. That’s not the case for your average gambler. And of course the younger someone starts gambling the quicker they become desensitised and need to gamble bigger amounts to get the same thrill. People are responsible for their own choices, yes, but they’re also influenced by what is normalized in their culture
