Yes
Yeah even the best s*** on there like Greedy and Nokia isn’t touching songs like Recognize or Over Here.
Some people have used the argument that people “don’t like R&B” and I disagree with this sentiment. Drake either doesn’t care or has declined in his songwriting abilities. He used to be the best of the big 3 when it came to crafting a snappy song that stayed with people. This project? There’s barely any hooks that people remember.
As a huge Drake fan I always appreciate threads like this
Keeps me humble
Congrats to Kendrick
Discord angels, we got work to do
If you removed the bots the hot 100 would be 100 Drake songs. Fans of that midget would be in shambles
70s-90s a little too smooth for me beside the odd psycho like George Clinton and Prince.
Frank brought it back to their level where every song has an incredibly unique and vibrant sometimes experimental arrangement. definitely some others like Vyes who I havent fully dove into but there was just more urgency to the music back in the day.
House of Music is goated.
One shot they disappearin'
Flow on this bar really reminds me of Biggie
Its a line from Biggie lmao
What's crazy is that lawsuit pumped so much fuel into Not Like Us lmao it was just about done at that point
'70s Sly.
still great and super influential but I feel like something was definitely lost when he started using a drum machine in the 70s
and the contagious optimism of his 60's stuff had turned into the most harrowing pessimism (understandably but still makes TARGO a tough listen)
'69 was by far his best year for me

welcome back brother
feel like Nokia gonna get played out quick.
It’s catchy sure but it’s not some god tier Drake song

All that peace love crap was getting pushed by wealthy Californian kids who could afford to do the bullshit they got away with
on another note, only 2 artists on the top 10 aren’t a person of color
good job to all fanbases, music is still alive

You could argue that Kendrick has subtly continued running with the beef but Drake hasn’t done any favors for himself with the bitter comments and the lawsuits.
The more frustrated energy he puts out there and the insistence that he’s “not dead” (even though most aren’t saying he is), the more people seem to be gravitating towards supporting Kendrick and his actual nonchalant energy. Drake claims he’s nonchalant, but his words and actions contradict that.
Only 2 songs to hit the top 10 are the drake solo joints.
I wonder how party feels about this.

It’s lowkey his Carnival when you think about it

Well Party barely cracks 40K first week at this point so him almost hitting 250K gotta feel really good to him.

Nokia shouldn't have had a beat switch and Party should have been on the 2nd verse imo
