Drake in 2018 was arguably at his commercial peak. Gods Plan? One of the biggest rap songs that decade. Nice For What? Inescapable. Nonstop and In My Feelings? Hits played at every function. Pusha T a legend for Clipse and how good his music is, but he’s not touching Drake commercially.

Kendrick on the other hand is his biggest rival, and has proven he can be a commercial juggernaut to if he pleases. I don’t think anyone anticipated how big NLU was gonna get though. It’s probably the biggest rap song of the decade so far. Impossible to escape that accolade.

Drake as well commercially is passed his peak though. He had 2 hits on FATD, both supported by features. And even then, those songs didn’t touch the success of the Scorpion singles for example. He’s slowly been losing his grasp with the mainstream in comparison and he knows this. That’s why we’ve seen him lashing out to a degree. He’s not gonna go out unless he’s kicking and screaming.
