Federal (1993)

E-40’s debut album is a zany, super lyrical G-funk masterpiece. 40 annunciates his words like a true West Coast player and introduces the world to his Bay Area slang while telling tales of Tanji (who he snatched at a party), escaping an ambush on Hide-N-Seek where he also wraps his Chevy Malibu around a 50 foot oak tree, and going to jail for murder. The production is all handled by Studio Ton who goes on to produce his fair share of songs for 40 on the next few albums. Overall, this album has incredible production, crazy flows great storytelling and dag-nab-it I’m gonna say it’s a classic.

I’m gonna give it a 4 out of 5
