this whole website is one giant cringe war between nerds who think their underground music taste is a personality trait and nerds who think listening to YoungBoy makes them hard.
In the grand scheme of things this is true.
I love Earl but I don't care if somebody doesn't listen to him. However the last thing I wanna see is ppl citing f***ing DJ Khaled. His fat ass called somebody who outsold him the mysterious one and his whole album was forgotten in less than a week. Like???
i'm not very surprised, anyone who heard SRS knew what to expect and some people just aren't with the wave

Add first week sales as a sign of quality music to it and you right

If you're not a mainstream act you dont really need high sales to have a sustainable business model for your music career.
First week sales are emphasized by labels because they want the fastest return on investment possible.
Let them wallow in their balloon numbers
not bad since it dropped halloween cuz a lot of the streams and s*** would be on the first day
plus its only 7 songs and not mainstream friendly at all
And Khaled isn't even a musician. Like all that man does is put ppl together on the same track with the vision of someone whose homepage is HotNewHipHop.

Yes that is true when we’re talking about HIGH first week sales Earl doesn’t need that
But 7.6k? S*** how much money would that make him
Most artists get a vast majority of their music from touring, advertisement, and merchandise. Earl toured and has a clothing line so he’s probably eating well regardless
Also NPR & a few other stations licensed Riot! To be played sometimes based on personal experience and that’s a bag in itself
I personally f*** with his music but it's the literal opposite of accessible s***
He needs to make his wave more accessible to drake tier mfs
