Earl should realize that the meaning of things change over time.

Trap is a production style now.
You’re not gonna move the dial on that.
    Just accept.

Just because a song has elements of a genre’s production doesn’t mean the song itself belongs to that genre.

A song can have trap inspired production but also not be a trap song

I love trap music like Uzi and Trav

Yeah, I agree with that, but I saw a tweet ITT that was saying it’s called trap cause of the subject matter… they rap about trapping… And no one thinks of trap music that way, everyone just associates the production style.

Yeah but that’s the problem. A song simply having trap production doesn’t by itself make it a trap song. People could hear Ariana Grande sing over a trap beat, and they’d say it’s a trap song, that’s the issue Earl is bringing up in his tweet

Trap music is defined by the lyrical content

Lol what a reach, no person that doesn't know a little about music would confuse miami bass with trap. Trap as a production style didn't come about until Tip's 24's produced by Shawty Redd back in 03/04 which was combining the triplet and quad hi-hats and snares which wasn't done before.
