Veeze, Babyface Ray, Lucki, Drake
yeah bro you’re definitely tapped in for sure
As someone who kinda likes Keem let's be honest, that niggas style is not gonna rock with everyone. And you know that
I don’t see why
It can be impactful, but in terms of this thread, Kendrick is doing nothing to keep rap where it's at.
My point is that singling out Drake when he's the one that keeps rap at the forefront is crazy. Cole hasn't dropped, Kendrick just dropped The Big Steppers and while it's a great album it doesn't have the legs to constantly be in rotation
Kanye just dropped his first full length album in years with Donda in 2021 and then cancelled himself lol
This is where these arguments confuse me. What album that has been consistently on billboard is considered not having legs. It also produced the highest grossing tour of all time.
And rap doesn’t need to be kept to the fore front because it’s readily available it needs to be there because it’s the best music that comes out of it.
Drake dropped 2 albums last year 4 projects in the last two years and this first half of rap has still been the worst in years. Why do you think that is?
If the only way yo keep rap in the forefront is by flooding it with music then we have become the industry the labels want us to become.
I love Juice so much I don’t believe emo rap just died like that
i mean emo rap also lost Peep and Juice it wasn’t njust X

True but this genre had so much potential it was really carried by 3 people??

REAL
True but this genre had so much potential it was really carried by 3 people??
They were the 3 biggest rappers in their genres
I remember when the art world really loved Hip Hop too, with music videos being well done and having high taste, tasteful refrences of things. Even videos filmed in the ghetto had quality to them. Now s*** is so on the nose, childish and basic.
There are very few videos these days that wow me,even the videos that go fir the "art" look are f***ing basic to me.
I was fortunate to live through the blog era
Glad I got to see drake Cole and Kendrick grow as artist
yea they want to be carti
that’s one of the biggest issues with newer artists.
niggas be inspired by one artist only, specifically a rapper, and they only sound like that rapper lmao
it’s niggas whose entire sound is just replicating playboi carti. or drake. or cole.
drake came out and ofc had 808s influence on him but he also sounded like wayne, joe budden and jay z all mixed up. and that’s how you create something new.
Peep was as weird as Uzi
The youth wanted to be like them more and saw X as the most relatable figure of their gen. Even if Uzi is idolized, the point is that there were 100% the ones because after them there was no one else especially compared to after bigge and pac
They were the 3 biggest rappers in their genres
and in their youth as well ,giving them less time to influence the youth to carry the torch
nigga named KTT core and said hip hop is in a great place rn
Veeze goes crazy idk what to tell you

It's not because of Drake I can tell you that
I just noticed your avi so I want to reiterate that I f*** with Kendrick and i'm not bashing the album
I'm saying in relation to this thread, meaning Labels not prioritizing rap anymore. Kendrick is not helping at all by dropping niche albums every 5 years
I'd agree with that argument some niggas make mainstream music hits but they themselves just aren't recognizable or mainstream artist.
Also I'd like to also say JID is NOWHERE near Swae or French so that should tell you the gap between mainstream and not mainstream for me.
Not being mainstream doesn't Mena you're nobody just means you're not mainstream
Aight we can just agree to disagree then
