Y’all bought into brands and social media personalities over music and wonder why s***s f***ed up

  • Problem with newer hiphop today is the amount of young and newer artists in the forefront of the genre that are making meaningful music is severely limited compared to what it used to be from the late 2000’s to mid 2010’s. I’m not even talking super self conscious music, just an artist who has an actual message in their music beyond the sound.

Around 2017-18 the genre shifted in the mainstream to this shallow microwave era of music and it’s only gotten worse since then. I’m all for fun music but when the vast majority of the new mainstream acts fit into the “fun, vibe, aesthetics” crowd you are bound to run into this issue.

    capers

And nothing came of those two, what’s your point?

Kanye has been putting on people forever, the good ones make something of themselves, the bad ones don’t.

Who did he put on? Travis, maybe? Chance a little bit. I’m genuinely forgetting people
