Still on repeat literally played the whole album this morning

Yeah, it’s still super strong all these years later. Dude capped off an incredible year with this mixtape. I used to listen to trilogy pretty religiously back in the day so nothing new stuck out for me in my listening experience this morning, other than Same Old Song being very minimalistic. I wonder who was playing guitar on that one?

Things were way different in the blog era

It felt like anyone could genuinely bow up without needing major label support. You just needed to gain traction on myspace, or later on tumblr and Twitter.

It’s still possible today, but streaming and payola algorithms have essentially made it so that the majors have control again. As convenient streaming is for consumers, it hurts artistry on multiple levels

Realistically, new artists can still blow up without major label backing via Tiktok, but it’s a lot harder.

Was always better than the other two tapes but it’s becoming even clearer that it aged the best by far too

it’s an incredible project, the songwriting is so strong, the production is fantastic and only carries it even further and helps it.

The dark winter atmosphere it has is perfect and is the best way to end the trilogy, the dark songwriting is at its best here imo.

It also leads into Kiss Land perfectly, a cold dark snowy winter into a cold raining morning atmosphere of Kiss Land.
