No one’s saying that either It’s like complaining that Impressionist painting lacks minute detail. It’s not necessary to create impressively detailed textures if the overall style doesn’t warrant a need for it. This is one of those cases, the style is clearly cohesive despite not having overtly photogenic textures

Folks complaining about the open world or graphics of Elden Ring don't understand that FromSoft hardly ever misses from a game-design/art direction standpoint.

Agreed, like you mentioned games like SOTC, Nier Automata, even Death Stranding to a degree all use the emptiness of the world to convey that desolate yet serene feeling so well.

I think Elden Ring will have a good balance of both heavy RPG based NPC interactions and moments of desolation in the vast world of Elden Ring.

Yeah because Demon’s Souls remake is a next gen exclusive and made by a completely different developer who wanted to show off the capabilities of the PS5 lmao. Fromsoft focuses on artwork/core/basics of a game first then graphics.

Just rewatched the trailer in 4K and honestly don’t see what the f*** people are complaining about the graphics look great? Keep in mind they have half a year left to perfect graphics, the trailer wasn’t playing in HDR as well so I bet the shadows and color of the game will look so much better at launch with HDR enabled, everything else looks crisp so I don’t see where the problem is lmao

Demons souls wasnt done by them & fromsoftware games always look a bit behind, only one i would say that rivaled other was BB.

ER is still a ps4 game, but yeah i know what you mean. Its been like that since ds1 for the most part.

Still looks fine tho to me. If it was next gen exclusive then i think their would be more room to complain imo.
