Me neither. Asked for a lore source itt but got told to rewatch the intro again as if that helped the first time
I'm not used to being out of the lore loop but I deadass have no idea what anybody's itt is talking about
I just looked it up I got a good idea
This is a cool commercial and gives a modern basic look on the plot

Why no new IP, let them expand on ER with DLCs imo
Its just general talk idk what they got on their design n hopes docket
Plus i imagine they wouldnt want want to throw away all them assets already
oh man it’s gonna be so f***ing good
just knowin that theyll probably
take the structure of elden ring and do a different spin on it in terms of setting/gameplay is giving me a chubby
Theyve already confirmed that Elden Ring is the template for their next few titles going forward
f*** him lmao i think i went back right after getting my maiden just to kill his ass
But I just have zero knowledge of the world so any tidbits i get usually seem so cryptic that they mean nothing to me and are forgotten instantly. Does this take place in the same universe or whatever as dark souls? I do not understand how yall are picking up the story so easily
I'm usually the lore master with any nerd s***
I gave the very simple gist of the plot already
You have to do the questline of the first npc u meet, the maidenless guy
u dont have too
theres a portal in snowfields
f*** him lmao i think i went back right after getting my maiden just to kill his ass
theres a portal in snowfields that lead to mohg
thats actually the "correct" way since its meant to be an end game area, but through that dude you can go super early n people abuse it for farming n get decimated by mohg n his people
This is a good review of Elden Ring moreso on the evolution of "souls" games to ER

Bro a bit corny but its a cool watch

ok so how much do you want me to explain to you? really the most important/fleshed out parts of the mythos are the relationships and history amongst NPCs and a lot of the enemies/bosses.
are you confused about your motivation/role in the world???

yessirrrrr now just imagine the next iteration of that being something like what bloodborne was to DS
lmfao i don’t think From has teams working on different projects at once, they’re practically a boutique studio
They worked on DS2 & Bloodborne at the same time
Also Sekiro & ER
i agree, i definitely want DLC/a couple expansions for ER but their new IPs never fail to amaze
Elden Ring: Moon/Outer Space DLC

Here’s the lore from what I’ve read….
The Greater Will is like the creator of everything and sent down the Elden Ring to The Lands Between. The Elden Ring is a physical thing that maintains the order of the world. The Great Runes make up the Elden Ring.
During The Shattering the Elden Ring was broken and scattered and The Shardbearers and a few others came in possession of each Great Rune… now the land is in chaos and everyone wants to be the new Elden Lord
The Greater Will brought you and the other human NPC’s, aka The Tarnished, back because he was pissed about what happened to the Elden Ring.
Now you are trying to get each Great Rune back to fix the Elden Ring and become the Elden Lord… or do something else, since there’s multiple endings.

Idk I just explore so much in between rare NCP encounters that nothing is connecting at all

you set the timeline up yourself like how in real life of different perspectives on an event/story
Its not told in a page one to back of the book way because its a more natural/realistic way
you get the pieces then set them up, most npcs have nothing to do with each other and have their own goals, opinions n ideals

I recognize and appreciate that but think I may be too dumb
IM GOING TO F***ING KILL MYSELF. I JUST LOST 4 HOURS OF ELDEN RING PROGRESS BECAUSE MY POWER WENT OHT AND IT DIDNT SAVE. I BEAT GODFREY DURING THAT PERIOD AND MY MOTIVATION TO PLAY THIS GODFORSAKEN GAME IS ZERO NOW

This a good starting video, gives you a starting point for the story and also kinda gives you an idea of how story telling in these games work with how a lot of information can be picked up by reading from item descriptions, the location you found the item, the enemy you looted the item from etc

There's alot of; "go to this place you've never heard of to use this item you've never heard of to make this event you don't understand happen" and s***
expected George Martin whom I stans involvement to help elucidate the narrative for my taste but nah this just as cryptic as Dark Souls which is why I couldn't get into it
