Damn, I was about to go fight him, I'm like level 12 scadutree fragments. So you're saying to wait a bit?

I would def, especially of you dont like using spirits

His health pool is large and he hits like a truck

I was just about to beat him too but then he f***ing telepathic grabbed me n i died while still having 7 heals left

I suggest fighting him. Its the type of battle that can get too easy depending on your scadutree blessing level. I wish i fought him at a lower level (but i still had fun)

If you are good at parrying Midra is a cakewalk

  • Jul 23, 2024

    Midra such a cool fight

  • Jul 23, 2024

FINALLY got him on my 10th try lets go

The only boss ive found difficult in the DLC so far (i only have the final area left) while only Maliketh an Hoarah were the only ones on base game for me

Couldnt imagine fighting him on low scardu

Health sponge humanoid enemies are never fun to me like the final samurai boss of ds2 dlc and a handful of others

Luckily theyre not common, for me

And a lot of his moveset is somilar to Gwyn and Soul of Ember, but i do like its final phase of its 3 a lot

  • Jul 23, 2024

Morgotts Cursed Seord is the weapon i used to beat him

    Bloodflame plus bleed

And the arc of the aoe of its special move helps a lot catching Midra when hes moving around you

I say that because he has an easier moveset than final boss or messmer for example. Hes quite easy to learn and doesnt have crazy complex phase changes so you'll destroy him. I feel the same way for the boss of the rauh region. They're both incredible but die pretty fast

I like how with all the moral ambiguity about the hornsent and golden order and their crimes they universally hated shabriri and the frenzy flame

Im a souls fan with over thousand hours in the other games and Im deadass when I say making a top 10 bosses doesnt make sense anymore

This DLC and Elden Ring as a game destroyed the scale. Its not that you have to fill out the entire top 10 with ER bosses but just the fact that you could and you couldnt even be mad at ir

And Miyazaki says this still aint his perfect game

I feel you but then again there’s no world where somebody has played all the FS games and there aren’t a few spots reserved for some of the higher tier DS3 bosses

Ohh they got so many good bosses but I think the only geniune top 10 I personally still got is the Twin princes.

Especially gael and Midir I dont see them competing with these ER bosses anymore for me personally

Reviewers were really underselling these soundtracks too.

Dancing Lion, Saint of the Bud, Miquella, Bayle, Lord of Frenzy even the first minute of mother of fingers those some fine tunes.

From base game I only really thought Radagons Theme, Lichdragon Fortissax and Mohgs theme were this awesome. Maybe Malenia, Morgott and Godrick too

Nah tripping lowkey. Gael is so much fun mechanically, so fair too and an amazing send off for the series. It holds a lot more weight because of that than some other bosses

Twin Princes also GOAT, and id say second phase Nameless King and Soul of Cinder can also match Elden Ring in terms of being both satisfying to fight and having the visual flair

Gael used to be an easy top 5 pick for me but he kinda fell off since From released more games. I see him a bit like Atorias. Not really all that challenging anymore. A bit too heavy on the „anime“ and lacking in being kinda thought provoking (altho the painter is awesome) Its similar to Nameless king now that I think about it.

I understand why people love them because I loved them too but they got left behind a bit more than for example Twin Princes or Sister Friede and the Bloodborne bosses who imo held up better.

Its 100% personal preference but I think boss mechanics like attack patterns dont hold up as well as boss design, soundtrack, boss arena, lore and just different flair.

Like if we talking mere boss mechanics I think rellana is probably the best theyve ever done together with Ishin.

But for whatever reason the s***ty ass attack waterfowl dance puts Malenia above them. Simply because its so out there and bold to me and makes her so special
