This fight was bad, phase 2 mostly, stop conflating difficulty with quality ffs. I dont think theres a single person itt who didnt have to search how to dodge at least one of his attacks besides the unavoidable double cross. Im a morgott defender but i couldnt defend the lack of openings in this fight. The special effects were bad, you couldnt see anything
Phase 2 of consort is the first time ive ever felt like a souls boss was truly trial and error because he's unreadable.
The fight becomes actually very fun once you've learned his moveset, but the process of learning him is frustrating and requires searching online or talking to others like i did here.
Malenia only had 1 waterfowl, this boss had like 4 of them.

PS: its mostly the reddit users who want difficult fights even if unfair

Im sorry, but there's no way most people didnt look up or didnt suffer more than dozens of hours to figure out the clone attacks. There's nothing like it in from's history, its unintuitive, they only deal chip damage so they know its kinda bullshit but it still can stunlock you and that only helps slightly mitigate the problem.
Of course there also was the now patched cross slash

do you think he should’ve gotten nerfed? i’m curious, he definitely put me through hell and i hated fighting him, but i never felt like he was unbeatable and thats more so my thing for nerfing.

this also my first souls game though so whenever i meet an unfair feeling boss, i just feel like thats part of the experience

Absolutely needed to be nerfed. There was 0 way to use any spell or incantation that wasn’t a quick cast in that fight. You had to be hugging his leg the whole fight.

I like flashy s***. So I like to actually use ashes of war, n spells in my builds.

Just got to stormveil castle. Enjoyable so far but I think not as enjoyable as Demons Souls. I liked the linearity a bit more, that being said some of these boss fights are very fun
