My Darling always reminded me of this unreleased Em song he did, this had to be in his underground era

I Remember listening to My Darling when i was like 10/11 on youtube. I never heard a em song before This was when Recovery was coming out and I thought he was just the not afraid guy
Scared the s*** out of me as a kid especially that creepy ass hook.
He killed this song though.
!https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J1bklziBkJgMy Darling is such a good song
Also hearing my darling again. Him name dropping Paul Wall and Bubba Sparxxx has me crine.
I remember playing Def Jam Icon everyone's least favorite Def Jam Game and I could not beat Paul Wall in the story mode for that game lol.
There is a lot of revisionist history that happened for that album. When it dropped everybody was hyped on it and considered it a return to form, some calling it his best since TES. Relapse was seen as a misstep by pretty much everyone back then too, which is why Em disowned it on Not Afraid.
But since he leaned into the pop collabs on MMLP2 and Revival that album has caught more flack retroactively as you can trace the start of those kinds of songs to that album.
Off topic but Ridaz and Session One are two of Em's best songs post 2004
Perfect write up tbh. Recovery was on a lot of end of year lists too lol

I remember people actually being Hyped that he was "branching out" and doing collabs with Rihanna

Ridaz is great but was a Relapse 2 track. Also the closest to that old TES sound Eminem has captured since. In terms of instrumental, flow, song structure, mixing

it's always funny to me how its a very upbeat sounding song with slapstick storytelling that ultimately ends in rape lmao

Love it, great storytelling, you really visualize what he's saying, very funny always loved that one. Underrated fo sho

interesting. I didn't know Relapse 2 was gonna be accentless.
EDIT: forgot about all those leaks from that album lol. I forget Refill was Relapse leftovers rather than choice cuts from Relapse 2

Maybe a top 5 Eminem song.

It was still gonna be accents. A lot of Relapse Refill were tracks for Relapse 2
Maybe a top 5 Eminem song.
that and Marshall Mathers are his most underrated songs imo
It was still gonna be accents. A lot of Relapse Refill were tracks for Relapse 2
then that would've been interesting.
I'm glad Relapse 2 didn't drop ultimately because that leak pack was ass, even the D12 song sucked

Originally it would have had the accent, being made of relapse 1 leftovers.
Eventually he started working on it again in summer 09 in Hawaii and then in the fall with Just Blaze and those songs are all accentless.
It didn’t become recovery really until he started working with DJ Khalil and didn’t get the name til March 2010. The poppiest songs were recorded in April (Not Afraid) and May 2010 (LTWYL) right before album release.
then that would've been interesting.

50 said he had a lot of feats on relapse 2

yeah didn't one of them make Curtain Call 2? that song sucked too lol
Yall sleep in No Apologies
First two verses are from the OG Eminem show version of that song and are flawless. Verse 3 is kinda mid tho
yeah didn't one of them make Curtain Call 2? that song sucked too lol
Yeah he re-recorded that s*** with his new voice but it did suck

They re-recorded the song with new verses without acknowledging it. Yet very obvious between their voices and the fact 50 wrapped about Caitlyn Jenner being trans.
