Working part time so you can enjoy your actual life instead of running the rat race>>>

I mean it’s easy for you to say when you have spousal income you can additionally rely on

Quit man, I quit my 9-5 in July to start my own crypto thing. Cant imagine ever going back. Life is so much easier doing whatever I want now

What exactly do you do in crypto? I have been following the space and have friends that launched their own coins and were successful with it but I'm interested in how other people are in the space outside of investing in coins. Feel free to PM if you don't wanna put it in the thread

Exactly what they did, I launched my own protocol and it was/has been very successful. I stepped down a little under a month ago to pursue other projects and take a break but it’s fun af.

The thing is I have to make a smart move if I leave due to all the circumstances. Ive though about going back to part time and maybe using the free time to have side hustles . I only make about 200 more a week as a full time employee.

The glorification of work and money is unending and disgusting. Again and again we learn that happiness cannot be bought once you have broken above poverty. Happiness always resets to a baseline. A famous study took lottery winners (who won millions) and people who became paralyzed around the same time and measured their levels of happiness over the course of years. At around the 3 year mark both sets of people had returned to their baseline levels of happiness. We know it is community, friendship, and love that brings true happiness. And yet you still cap for work. Sad.

    OP

Started my own marketing company about 4 years ago, 6 figures, I haven't had a "boss" in a long time.

    A few pieces of advice:

    1. It's hard as f***. Mentally it's harder than you'll anticipate. You will 100% feel like giving up when things start going south (and that's inevitable).

    2. You need to be 100% focused in one area until you'd consider yourself the best at that one thing in your area (or online if it's an online business you intend on starting).

I went through phases of depression once I "made it". My business was on 100% autopilot and I had no drive to grow it. I was hella alone and never felt so low. I had no desire to work, and it made me feel like s*** despite having the freedom to do literally anything I wanted. It's weird s*** like this man that you'll have to face.

That being said, I wouldn't change anything about my life, and I'm not complaining about where I'm at, but it's a journey to get here and it's no surprise that 95% of people fail trying to get here.
