PND2 more important to modern r&b than the Solange album tbh
And I like solange
Shaquille with the facts
I don’t really feel like PND inspired much quality music, and thats not to take away from the quality of PND’s actual musicz
Solange restored a feeling and made people excited about rnb again and a lot of artist kinda came after that like Kelela, Jazmin Sullivan’s resurgence etc. i feel like Solange’s impact definitely gave us better s***
Maybe I just wasn’t paying attention to the discourse around the Solange album when it dropped but I just remember it as one of those albums that got good reviews and then everyone just kinda moved on from after that year
Crazy how RnB discussions always devolve into The Weeknd, Pnd and Frank Ocean discourse. Recipes are definitely being lost

A lot of the site probably got introduced to the genre through them
Also Miguel sings circles around all of them and has more hits than them all besides Abel

Party is r&b, way more than the other two

Still tho it wasn’t everywhere like PND2 was. Every dude/girl was quoting that album on social media
