You gotta put urself in the perspective from like ‘07... s*** wasn’t anything then, so it wasn’t a thing looked as seriously as it Is now
That’s something I overlooked I didn’t realize it said in 07 but even still I guess I just don’t understand the point if Facebook was important enough for him to have especially if we’re considering the ‘07 perspective because although it may not have been as prominent I’d argue it would mean even more if you had it back then because not everyone was on it, but it wasn’t important enough not to add his gf? I get the general point I think the execution of it was bad imo
That's like digital age gaslighting tho
Idk if it’s gaslighting
To her, he must be doing something immoral or wrong if he doesn’t think social media is important
And to him, she is crazy for caring so much about something that has no real life consequences that she’s willing to break up
The skit makes sense. Yes you'd be like "Why didn't he just add her" but the thing about social media, it's a relationship killer. Brings in so many unnecessary variables to take into account and argue about.
I for example have had several girls I was with, get upset over things that I post, take memes to heart, overthink my posts, and get upset over girls reacting and commenting on my posts. All these issues which could have been avoided had we never jumped into each other's digital space.
i never thought of it this way lol. when i first heard it my 1st impression was "oh she's being hysterical for no reason" then with time i shifted to "actually it's not that deep just add her". but now i can see that it's not that simple. being old enough to have used FB at its peak popularity (and at a relatively young age) that s*** warps how you perceive reality, if you're insecure it's just a horrible experience lol. tho i guess now it's the same with any other platform
i understand why some folks dont like the skit but as someone whos has a love/hate relationship with social media i relate to it to some degree
imagine not deleting it off the album
im going to delete you off life
im going to delete you off life
I do this with all skits tho, there's no skit in the world i wanna listen to 20+ times
I'd agree if the girl wasn't accusing him of cheating just cuz he wouldn't add her on fb
imo it’s like..
from the guy’s POV, he doesn’t care about social media & doesn’t see why adding her on facebook matters, since he doesn’t use it
from the girl’s POV, adding someone on facebook is just something standard that people do, and since he’s so adamantly refusing something so minuscule, he must be hiding something
His accent is mid tho, like come on bro, you didn't even try you're making us embarrassed
It’s not a fake accent tho? Dude didn’t know he was being recorded
You shouldn't have to be facebook friends with someone you're in a relationship with, your relationship is so much bigger than just instagram photos and facebook relationship statuses.

Why even have social media then? If you’re on social media then there’s zero reason not to friend the person you’re in a relationship with

You can use social media to keep up with friends and family you don't see on a daily basis and have some level of interaction with their life.
If you're seeing someone face to face in person how does facebook even come into this picture?

Do you know any couple that is together and they’re not friends on social media if they both have a profile or are we just going to pretend like that’s some sort of common thing?

I recently got out of a relationship at the start of this year, where I was not facebook friends with my girlfriend, nor did I update my facebook relationship status. We had been dating for over a year at that point. I'm sure others feel the same. Being facebook friends with someone isn't a remote priority for me. It shouldn't be for others either.

To each it’s own. I’m not saying people need to broadcast their entire relationship on social media for validation. I live with my gf and we’ve been together for two years so we know our relationship is more than whatever we put on social media, but at the same time to not have each other as friends if you use it at any capacity is weird. That’s just me
