Couldn't agree more - I have had experiences with a girlfriend's family that were heartbreaking. The outright discrimination they had to face was insane.

Yeah my dad does private consulting for kids with autism and its all about early intervention through repetition to teach them to use the bathroom by themselves and to have basic speech. If you dont intervene early they’ll spend their whole life none verbal and not bathroom trained. Among other awful things. So its an issue thats very close to me and I still have a lot of family friends that were his clients that thankfully became somewhat higher functioning. It’s one of the worst diseases that exists and its becoming so prevalent the last couple decades.

  • Its been a thing for years now. Anyone who isn't well adjusted or awkward just throws the label on. Most people in my experience who actually deal with autism are ashamed to even admit it

Anybody noticing this phenomenon of more and more people falsely claiming autism like some sort of fashion accessory. I’m even seeing actresses doing it. Why do you think this is happening?

How tf do you pick being neurodivergent to impress others?

  • Average ktt user

  • i cant wait for the day where they realize their victimhood mentality has gotten them nowhere after like 10 years of self masturbation

  • I feel like people have a false interpretation of what a perfect person is so they think that cause they’re a bit quirky or different they’re autistic. If that was the case then we’re literally all autistic

  • Idk I used to think my one friend faked having it, but it's just like i'm not a psychologist you know? Autism takes a long ass time to diagnose and theres no way I can say someone does or doesnt. If somebody self-diagnosed themselves its no problem honestly just try to push them to getting diagnosed

What good is pointing this "fake wave" out by the way, instead of pushing people to get diagnosed S*** is confusing as hell not knowing whats wrong with you and here you go saying it's all fake

I mean they are a higher amount of diagnosed autistic people in the world and it is only growing. They used to diagnose the lower spectrum people of having aspergers, but now that is autism. Theres def people claiming it as you say. Theres a ton of people on the lower spectrum of it.

Tbh I'm glad you brought it up bc I'ma keep it real if you're autistic but for the most part just a neuro-normative person i feel like you're being lame for even bringing it up. I have ADHD and anxiety the only person that knows is my godddamn doctor.

There’s nothing neuronormative about us. Even the highest functioning ones can barely make friends or attract women. It’s a life of deep emotional unfulfillment with no cure. We arguably suffer more we’re so close to being normal and consciously aware of where we fall short vs someone who’s in their own world and content with being in their basement all day watching cartoons
