they won’t but it’ll be first on Xbox either the game or the expansions

they did a similar thing with fallout 3 and I’m surprised they didn’t with fallout 4 tbh

Im quite sure they will, they want to expand gamepass and what better way to pull in more players than to release bethesda games exclusively in there

eh I’m not sure, a lot of people will own PS5 so it’s a huge market and even if those people have access I think fallout 5/ES6 on gamepass will still draw a lot of people to gamepass as well as sell many many millions of copies on multiple platforms. honestly I could even see it dropping on switch 2 if it’s a 4k console

and every person who has a PS5 won’t buy an Xbox and get game pass just for one game

I dont get why xbox would have bought zenimax if they planned to release bethesda games elsewhere. Keeping the games only on xbox/gamepass/xcloud will surely convince people to get at least gamepass. Its their big money maker now and they need exclusives to lure more players in, and if they released these games in other platforms people wouldnt care about game pass.
Iirc phil spencer even said they plan on releasing Bethesda games on microsoft services only

Sony and Nintendo have a massive player base, it would just be missing out on too much profit

You’re over thinking it “why would they have bought zenimax if they aren’t going to make it exclusive” they make money on every copy sold. That’s it. They own the game.

It’s not a complicated decision. Games that are multiplatform like call of duty, grand theft auto, and Skyrim simply outsold all Xbox exclusives by an insane amount. Even the best Xbox exclusives like halo come nowhere close to the huge multiplatform titles like Skyrim. They would be missing out on tens of millions of sales.

And no, none of those people would go to gamepass. Only casuals would get gamepass, any actual fan of Bethesda games would want to purchase the game for $60 so they own it. They wouldn’t sign up for a service and end up paying $400 over 5 years just to play one game

Yeah but xbox doesnt get all the bag by selling the games in other platforms, they'd get more by luring in players to gamepass. They could put gamepass or xcloud on playstation and switch, or convince them to spend the amount of a netflix subscription to play bethesda games and while they're there also halo, forza, etc. without even counting third parties that are more convenient to play on gamepass than buying them individually. I feel you're also underrating gamepass, its appeal is strong and if they can add AAA exclusives of caliber a lot of people who havent made a subscription will probably do so, since its not that expensive. Gamepass is quickly gaining more and more users and its making ms tons of money

You’re right but fallout 5 and elder scrolls 6 on gamepass will still attract a lot of people even if the game is for sale on other platforms. I think what phil was saying is that they don’t NEED to sell on other platforms to make the money back, but I think they still will to make extra money. If the game drops first on gamepass, they get the exclusivity that draws people in, and then they could also drop on other platforms to get the bag

Also it’s correct that Microsoft won’t make 100% from multiplatform sales but I bet they still get a huge cut and they could probably negotiate an even better deal with Sony than most developers because Sony will really want elder scrolls and fallout on PlayStation

I could see those games being timed exclusives, that's a good point for sure

FO3 was fun. It was my first fallout game. But compared to NV it felt to linear
NV is amazing but the shooting and stuff didn’t really age good. I never really got the FO4 hate outside the main story lines. Those where ass. Both with the synths/RR. The shooting was decent and the mods made it better.
Like op said, just fixing the mistakes in 4 should make 5 a lot better.
Idk bout Alaska tho I’d say maybe bring it to California or just the south west of the US

was a 4 year release window between skyrim and fo4

granted they got more workers now

so probably starfield 2023, elder scrolls 2026/27, fallout 2030/31

dropping a game in 2030 would be hard tho
