I’m not angry about anything, I’m not some stan of Weezer. I’m laughing at something I see as a dated boring opinion that we’ve all heard a million times for the last 20 years. The difference is when I don’t like something, which there’s plenty of things that fit that bill, I don’t go out of my way to s*** on the artists. There’s just a blunt antagonism that I avoid doing when it comes to music, we’re all supposed to be about enjoying art together. That’s why this thread has lasted so long.

I’m not a stan of the band by any means. It’s simply that Ithaka is possibly the nicest poster I’ve interacted with on this site and I’d say he’s for sure a stan, but he’s never antagonistic towards people’s tastes. His warm attitude and kindness when it comes to recommending music and appreciating diverse takes makes his threads one of the main reasons I came back on more frequently. Yeah for sure that Weezer thread is filled with over exaggerated hype and an inflated sense of value being put on everything but it’s a kind place to interact with people. There’s way too much negativity in the word right now that’s it’s like walking into a completely different universe when I’m conditioned to the positive attitudes in there to come back into my favorite thread with people I respect to just see intense negativity. I’m sorry for getting defensive.
