They preachin tho
I dig Eggers but yeah he's right about the c***y A24-only fans
Na he still has a lot of haters that are stuck in the 00s lmao. can’t imagine hating on that dude, got so many good movies i’d hold him among my fav modern directors
One of the few major directors since the 90s, especially working in America, who has pretty much always injected genuine vulnerability and sincerity in their work — without pandering or undermining it with meta-irony. And it's also great how he's really just been doing whatever he wants to do, even if it means self-funding a film, ever since the press & pop-journos made a concerted effort to destroy his name during the making of Lady in the Water.
I'm sure I've recommended this book ITT before, but anyone with a slight interest in Shyamalan, even if it's just his older stuff, should read The Man Who Heard Voices. Really awesome look into his image and life during the time when the public (spearheaded by press) turned on him.

Crazy how they gave the worst, most annoying character the best spells/summons, and her home has one of the best songs in the game
They actually did it twice, cause Amarant is so obviously tacked on to the party, but he's crazy powerful

I never used Amarant but Eiko was f***in strong. I remember she had that Phoenix spell that would just bring back your entire party. Still ended up using Zidane/Dagger/Steiner/Vivi the most though.
10 and 12 letting you swap characters in and out during fights were the best systems. Wish they thought of that earlier.

Yeah if 9 had the party swap in battle it would be profoundly easy to run through the game haha
How these MFs gonna call me and ask if i want to come in for an interview today, for a totally different position than the one i applied for, and then when i ask what the job description is, they say: "Well if you come in today we'll tell you about it in the interview."
And it's a 20 min drive from our temp apartment

I had something similar happen once. Did an interview over the phone and they were like
"You got the job! It's in Jersey"
"But I applied to the spot in the city"
"Oh sorry that position is taken"
"But I live in the city. I applied for the job in the city. Not Jersey."
"Oh"

Lol HR people be doing the craziest s***.
Like i applied to a risk/clerical position, and i have no clinical or social work experience (and dont want any). And this job they are wanting to interview me for is a hands-on social work job
Might have to bump Slime Season 2 up to my top 3 Thug

Explains why so many social workers are pure ass at their jobs
Qualifications? What for?

Well i wont be a social worker cause you have to be licensed to do that (and have a degree in social work in most cases), but the job they want me to do is basically what interns do at psych/rehab facilities when they're working towards their social work degree.
Hands-on interactions with patients and meeting with their families to come up with treatment plans and whatnot. I dont really wanna do all that. I wanna be in the records office flagging charts because treatment plans weren't signed by the physician haha

Yeah I didn't mean you, just saying in general, a lot of the people working these jobs simply aren't qualified and don't even wanna be there in a lot of cases. I don't know how these things are dealt with but it's often messy, at least in NYC.
A friend of mine had a mental health worker tell her she couldn't commit suicide because she'd be sent to hell. Like, who the f*** talked to that person and said "yeah you're good for the job" lol

Ironically The Village and The Witch compliment each other pretty well.

Imagine seeing Bryce's blind ass fumbling around in the background of The Witch like
For everyone’s 70’s list I can’t recommend this album enough. I’ve never seen anyone even talk about it so I’m spreading the word again in here. If I had to compare it to anything it’s like the perfect cross between Nick Drake, Syd Barrett, and early Nick Cave. It starts as like traditional relatively pleasant folk and descends into madness becoming very primal and even kind of demonic at points. It’s making my top 10 for sure.

I remember years ago having you listen to the track Jerusalem from it and I recall you really digging that.
