“Ooooh yikes an artist disagrees with me on a couple issues”. Who cares. Art isn’t a purity test. You should be open to differing perspectives in the context of a creative space. What you “consume” doesn’t need to conform to your worldview.
I think Tidal Hi-Fi it is . Same price as apples music
hifi plus sounds like a scam for 10 extra dollars. Only the highest of high quality audio systems won't compress music down to regular hi fi so it's not worth it imo.
Okay this MIKE record might be the great rap album this year I was looking for

It feels like an SRS-onward Earl record but with a little bit more life and energy put into it. Great album
He’s a Bernie bro Democratic socialist. He just likes guns.
It's very f***ing rare for me to hear an album that otherwise sounds good but had lyrics that turned me off for social/political reasons. Actually it's probably the only time. Either way shut up and let me live.
Though you were taking Killer Mike for a sec
album had horrendous Republican bars
lol what did he say on it

I just doubt I’ll ever be able to get into that sound.
Yes <3
What I consume doesn't need to conform to my worldview but if I want to pound a rap album, I don't want to be grossed out by what he's saying

Post-808s misogyny on Kanye albums doesn't gross you out? You are nitpicking and biased

Tbh I can't remember specifically but my overall reaction was

A huge amount of popular rap music is bragging about murdering people and degrading women.

Killer Mike has been p open with his opinions on politics and social issues for years now. The fact that he’s honest with them should be appreciated
I know
Do you think I’ll dig it more than Earl’s recent stuff?

Violent Crimes is the only song where the misogyny seems real. Most misogyny in rap isn't.

Never bothered me till his latest album

Are you guys kidding me?

Maybe
if you're familiar with MIKE you'll know it's very Earl-adjacent but I think it's a bit more dynamic in its approach, and has a handful of creative detours

I don’t even get what is Republican about his views. His argument has always lined up with black panthers. Basically that if the state systemically discriminates then black people should defend themselves against their oppressors with whatever tools they can get ahold of—which naturally includes firearms.
