Vonnie said he spent "90 percent of the time" with Durk "almost every day."

"I pretty much did whatever he asked me to do from 2018 on," Vonnie said, saying he officially went on Durk's payroll in early 2021.

He testified his cousin King Von was also very close to Durk.

OTF Vonnie said on the stand today that King Von and himself are not blood cousins.

Prosecutor: You thought he was your cousin at the time ?

Vonnie: I thought we were because our grandmothers were close but I later found out that we were not related.

Prosecutor: You learned he was a member of the Black Disciples ? (Von)

Vonnie: Yes

Prosecutor: Were you involved in that life ?

Vonnie: No Sir

Prosecutor: Was Mr. Banks apart of that life ?

Vonnie: Yes

Prosecutor: How did you know ?

Vonnie: His handshake. Gang signs he threw up.

Vonnie: I wrapped with 300 on the side.

Prosecutor: And what is 300 ?

Vonnie: It’s associated with the gang Lamron 300

Prosecutor: Did you acquire guns for King Von ?

Vonnie: Yes

Prosecutor: For Durk as well ?

Vonnie: Yes

Vonnie sat on the stand and watched video footage of his cousin's 2020 death and told the jury about how the night unfolded.

Vonnie said approximately 40 people, with some being O'Block members, went to the club this night with King Von.

Vonnie arrived first and was sitting in his car when he heard shots fired.

Vonnie identified his car as it fled the parking lot.

He testified that he saw King Von in the road, and turned the corner to drive towards him.

"I guess we were getting ready to go in and shots went off. Von got shot," Vonnie said.

He recalled repeating, "Just get him in the car. Just get him in the car," to those around King Von.

"Just a lot of chaos right there in that moment," Vonnie testified.

The last question Vonnie was asked by the prosecution before court ended was: Did King Von pass away that night?

"Yes," Vonnie said.

Vonnie's testimony will continue Tuesday morning.

Then the defense will have the opportunity to cross examine him.

A text from Lil Durk from 2020 was read aloud:

“If the shoe was on the other foot it would be no pressed.

Im’a be hard on y’all cause I love y’all. Von is me, Von is y’all.”

This was in a group text that Vonnie was not apart of, but between other OTF members.

Another text fron Lil Duke was read from December, 30, 2020 from Lil Durk. “I ain’t celebrating cause my dawg dead and nun happen. Love y’all. Have fun. Be safe’s when we on that type of time I’ll be happy.”

Anther text that was read today, “Let it be YB and nem.

Shorty be out every night.

We got the lo on a MF and guess he at club like he ain’t got be worried about.

Set said Chicago only, but in the A, they think we sweet.”

Prosecutor: What was the YB abbreviation ?

Vonnie: NBA Young Boy

The defense objected these messages being read because Vonnie was not in the group chat, but the objection was overruled.

Vonnie described Durk’s frustrations that OTF members did not take action against Rondo following the death of King Von.

Test messages were read by Grant from a group chat where Durk threatened to withhold money from the group until they rallied for Von.

Vonnie testified to not being close to OTF Jam and Deondre Wilson (Dede), but said Durk was very close to them.

He described King Von’s passing as, “Devastated, heartbroken, sad, bad day.” Vonnie said at a memorial following Von’s death,

it was clear to OTF members present that everyone wanted “revenge.”

“It took a toll. We lost somebody we really loved,” Vonnie said. “It was clear to everyone. Myself as well.”

Two songs were played for court, including “Still Runnin” and “Pissed Me Off.”

Durk often nods along to his music when it is played in the courtroom.

Vonnie testified that these songs were “subliminal,” meaning Durk may not “say your name, but the message is intended for you,” he explained.

“He’s angry, so he’s letting it out,” Vonnie told the jury. “He’s letting you know why he’s angry as well.”

Vonnie also testified and admitted to organizing the May 1, 2021, attempt on Rondo’s life in Georgia.

He described being at a party with Durk and approximately 30 other people.

Someone mentioned Quando was in town, and Vonnie testified his name was “like a bomb in an airport.”

He testified that Durk told him to “put it together,” which translated to “let’s go and get him.”



Vonnie organized two stolen cars, but only one was used, along with guns.

he called these “regular steps” for committing crimes. He said everyone “knew the plan and understood.”

This attempt on Rondo’s life also took place at a gas station, but Rondo was not hit.

Vonnie then started testifying the day before Savaiy’a Robinson’s murder — Aug. 18, 2022.

He testified that on a private flight from Florida to Los Angeles, Durk informed Vonnie that Quando would be in L.A. for a show.

Vonnie said by the time the plane landed, flights were arranged.

Vonnie described organizing the plan as feeling “normal” because he was used to arranging flights, stolen cars and guns for Durk.

He testified it was Durk who had OTF members fly into San Diego in order to avoid police.

Vonnie also testified he had a designated room in the house where Durk’s family was staying in Encino, but also lived with a girlfriend in Beverly Hills.
