That is true, but people romanticizing authoritarian regimes and acting like Castro is some sort of misunderstood hero is just weird.
Are these same people gonna give the CCP the same judgement?
These regimes opress freedom of speech, movement and minoritygroups.
A black movement would have never even had the chance to materialize because that is one of the top priorities of an authoritarian regime: suppression of minoritygroups or forceful assimilation.
Black people were at the whims of whatever the leadership saw as right at the time, that Castro was so progressive when it came to race relations was a good thing but the freedoms we take for granted in the west are what people under these regimes want to, you don't have to be a capitalist for that.
I will never call a dictator decent or a good person when he actively opresses people who don't agree with him.
Fake commies on the internet love to spew this s*** but if they were asked if they rather were born in their western country or Cuba which one would you think they pick?Cuba doesn't work like that though, Dictators cant wake up one day and decide what laws they want, they have to go through parliament which is elected by the people in Cuba, and they dont have to vote for communist party members, they can vote for people that aren't associated with the communist party (idk how it works if someone tries to make a different party, probably be suppressed as you say). Majority people would pick western countries cause they're the benefactors of imperialism.
