Bro I’m in exchange I have nothing but my laptop. Besides main issues were with the vapid story, lack of real tension, music not hitting like Zimmer usually does and idk about that ending
Still 4 🌟 and a ❤️
I understand but fr if you ever can see it on a bigger screen do it. Cause it made me go from thinking its pretty good to being my fav of the decade
Still needa see it in cinema sometime

I mean I loved it visually, when the camera lingered around the extra few seconds so you could take the entire scene in
Can’t help but feel the first movie discussed its philosophy better then this one. The mystery aspect was cool but they didn’t really bring it far enough imo

All your criticism is super valid bro, same i had tbh
But trust me, this is a grower. Upon rewatches s*** like lack of tension will be less detrimental to the viewing experience, at least that's the way it was for me
Something abt the world Villeneuve and Deakins created just pulls me back in every time

When I get back home to my bigger screen and headset I’ll give it another go
Prob goated with snow outside and a cup of hot chocolate
Week 2: The Red Shoes - 10/10. Perfect in every aspect. The red shoes dancing sequence
Score, Lighting, Choreography, Costumes perfection in every way. Last 20 minutes took an excellent movie and made it perfect. First Powell and Pressburger for me and now I need to see more by them
Week 3: The Public Enemy - 6.5/10. An extreme influence on basically every other gangster movie, with an additional 20-30 minutes it wouldn't be just influential but also an all time gangster movie.
Buffalo 66 was piff
Dude was a d*** but i cant help but relate in a way. And that last act was flames
Where's the number in repo man
Last weeks! Just did this week Trial of Chicago 7 4/5!

My new favorite film of 2019 and also my favorite war film that i've ever seen. I might have to reconsider my earlier statements of me disliking the war genre, considering i ended up loving Dunkirk, Full Metal Jacket and now this one
Amazing sound track, great set design and it doesn't lack the emotional punch some of the films in this genre are missing (at least for me). The 'continuous shot' way of filming really made me bond with our main protagonist. It really worked for me in 1917 and is so much more than just a gimmick. I've heard some people say the 'walking to the next scene' parts were boring but i wasn't bored for even a sec tbh
Can't wait to see this again. MASTERPIECE

What about Apocalypse Now
Haven't seen
I guess that omission makes sense then! Liked 1917 too, good movie!
