    Using AI for any writing capacity is a big NO for me.

    Now if you’re using AI to like cross reference your work? Say you have a joke in your script and you wanna find out if it’s been used before in another movie, I have no problem with AI searching for you and letting you know if it’s original or not.

    There were plenty of inexcusable uses of AI in film in 2024.

    The Brutalist: Used generative AI to create drawings of buildings and used voice AI to modify Adrien Brody's voice for an accent he couldn't naturally do.
    Emilia Perez: Used voice AI to enhance Karla Sofia Gascon's vocals in a range she couldn't naturally do.
    Late Night with the Devil: Straight up generated AI images and put them right into the film.

    I am 100% against any and all generative AI in art. I don't care what it's used for. I don't care if a human is the one writing the prompts, or using it for inspiration, or any of that. I'm fully against it no matter what.

    I am against voice modification technology that artificially "enhances" actors' voices. I am absolutely against the grave robbing, necromancy technology that recreates the voices of dead people.

    It's all evil, and it's going to ruin this medium.

    I understand not jackin AI cus I’m not entirely for it either. But invalidating an entire performance even if they used a 0.0001% filter on a voice is wild.

    With that logic we should throw away music artist using auto tune to tweak/enhance they voice.

    Having such a big budget for a film and not using just a small portion of it to get some great blue eyed contacts is insane

    And I’m okay with that but how do we differentiate it from what music artist do with virtually enhancing their vocals?

    Heres a hypothetical scenario:
    Im an artist who has thousands of pictures paintings drawings photos and videos made by me and only me. I train a neural network using my material locally instead of on the cloud. The electricity i use is 100% solar power from my roof. Once trained, i use this model to generate whatever i want to achieve my vision of a film.
    What the f*** is the problem with that? A large portion of creativity occurs outside your brain regardless. I dont believe youve provided a valid argument as to why generative models shouldnt be used.
