And western is my favourite genre
Few good scenes but if I was black the last person I would want white knighting for me is f***ing Quentin "N-Bomb" Tarantino
So youre admitting theres a bias towards QT going on there
To me the QT "rewriting history era" had his best dialogue
IB-Django-H8

There's no bias, I grew up watching Quentin and he used to be one of my favourites but as I get older some aspects of his film look pretty iffy to me

Well like i said, lets just agree to disagree then

I'm ok with that, he has one of the filmographies nobody will ever rank the same. Kill Bill easily the zenith for me probably cause I grew up watching all the assortment of martial arts films referenced.

Yeah Kill Bill 1 is still an 8/10 but that one is actually more near the bottom for me
I liked vol. 2 a lot more, since it had better characters and was more talky in comparison to the first which was more action packed
The Hanzo scene in vol1 still cracks me up every time tho
"Im not bald, i shaved my head. Do you unnastaaaand?"
Django clearly the least good QT
agreed. still decent for the actors’ amazing performances alone
Is it a dark comedy with graphic violence? I'm kinda intrigued
Pretty much

When he flings that s*** at the dude running his mouth I died
Wait, how is more action packed a detriment?

Not per say i just prefer the dialogue driven vol.2 over the vol1 which relies more on action sequences but its pretty close
Its just a matter of personal taste
im split on tree of life
like half the time i really wasnt feeling, but other half i thought was incredible.
Boondocks
i don't get what ppl like or find funny about this series
Wait you talking about the cartoon???
can Star Wars be called overrated cause im not sure thats its even really rated...but it is the most popular thing there is so idk
yes
Cant relate i love the boondocks its great satire
Edit;
Is you gonna give it back
Apocalypse Now
Coppala gave his life for that classic. What didn't you like about it if you don't mind me asking.
I liked it overall! I'm gonna copy and paste my review from letterboxd cause I went a little more in depth there, but i guess I would sum it up by saying I felt there was a lot of spectacle over substance
Okay, let me start by saying it's beautiful. Every frame is a masterclass by Coppola from the shading to camera movement. I want to give a special mention to the fades which were incredible. Technically, this film is perfect. Its also well acted, especially from Duvall and of course Brando. There's some interesting messages here, but I felt they were a bit muddled and lost on the way. I think I would have enjoyed this more had it leaned into the genre expectations which the prior theatrics seemed to imply. Also, its a bit too long. I'll be seeing the Final Cut at some point, but can't say I'm looking forward to it.
