Coppala gave his life for that classic. What didn't you like about it if you don't mind me asking.
I liked it overall! I'm gonna copy and paste my review from letterboxd cause I went a little more in depth there, but i guess I would sum it up by saying I felt there was a lot of spectacle over substance
Okay, let me start by saying it's beautiful. Every frame is a masterclass by Coppola from the shading to camera movement. I want to give a special mention to the fades which were incredible. Technically, this film is perfect. Its also well acted, especially from Duvall and of course Brando. There's some interesting messages here, but I felt they were a bit muddled and lost on the way. I think I would have enjoyed this more had it leaned into the genre expectations which the prior theatrics seemed to imply. Also, its a bit too long. I'll be seeing the Final Cut at some point, but can't say I'm looking forward to it.
Lord of the Rings
I don't like all that classic fantasy s*** with elves, dwarfes etc. If its presented in a more realistic and gritty way like the Witcher videogames or GoT, i can still get something out of it. But those super clean fantasy worlds are just too perfect to a point where it gets eerie. Its like seeing movies from the 50s with those clean picture perfect white families.
GOTGv1-2. I don’t think they’re bad movies. But when people talk about them as some of the better MCU movies
They’re funny movies. I go into MCU movies with them being action movies first and foremost. Idm jokes but I like the serious moments. The end of GOTG one with Star Lord breaking into a dance damn near ruined the movie for me Ngl. For GoTG 2 I thought it was ok.. but regretted seeing it in theaters. It wasn’t worth the money to me.
Joker and the Adam Sandler gem movie are two of the most bloviating, self indulgent, and utterly meaningless pieces of popular media in the last 100 years
Pretty much every comic book movie besides the “original” Spider-Man movies & Iron Man
How do people watch this s***

uncut gems pretty meaningless (not that that matters if its good, which it is) but completely disagree with joker

Walked out of joker early. I have never felt so insulted intellectually by a piece of media. You could not try to write a movie with less purpose. You'd have to have the cognitive ability of a trump voter to find one redeeming quality in the movie that wasn't a one liner from the trailers

It's a 2 hour ego trip of pseudo intellectual drivel in which the director/writer get their rocks off convincing idiots there is any deep meaning to its nonsense
scarface and drive
my list is too long
