Beaten the game
Didn't know the trophy list required that much of me, I'll get to that s*** later
My thoughts
Cast: Pretty decent crew, I like that aside from Clive I guess, the character design is pretty grounded. They all look like regular people, no crazy anime hair like Cloud for example, just regular folk. Mid is the best girl no doubt. Byron was probably my favorite of the whole crew we came across.
Side Quests: If you put the story into three cours and the respective side mission trajectory there. It's pretty ass overall for the first two cours. Then once get towards end game where things connect and play out there's a few quests that are rewarding. Definitely was way too MMO like though, if Yoshi P and crew get another crack at a mainline game this should definitely get overhauled.
Combat: Combat is very fun, I know people compare it to DMC, which I've never really enjoyed how DMC plays. Aside from difficulty being pretty lackluster first playthrough, the combat itself is fun at the least. I feel like Diamond Dust is incredibly OP, that s*** depletes stagger bar singlehandedly at times. Odin and Titan felt the weakest as far as cohesion with other powers to me. I love the Asura's Wrath kind of feel of the Eikon battles, I could do without the QTE though. Rather that just be a cutscene than having to spam a button.
Story: Story itself is fine, decent, nothing crazy. Especially if you've played plenty of JRPGs, but they followed through and didn't trip over their own feet. My biggest critique is I don't like how Jill was written, she didn't really stick as a character to me. She's kind of passive and in the background, and you very obviously see she'll be Clive's love interest. Then she just kind of fades into the background mid way through.
Personally I don't see any need for a DLC with this game. I know some people want that or even a XVI-2\. Where we are at present and the ending, I just don't see that as necessary. Clive likely still alive, I just don't see what they would do from this point forward, and the past doesn't really interest me here. Solid story though.
Overall I don't know who'll make FF17 in 8 years or whatever, but I'd like to see this team get another crack at one. I think they could really build off what they've learned from this entry. Clearly Final Fantasy has been trending towards action RPG for awhile and they nailed that aspect of things.
we got to wait 8 years for another one
Late game:
Don't think the fight with Odin was a disappointment, was good to finally have a sword vs sword fight (wish it was in the split ocean instead). But his character was ass
split ocean was so fire to watch the cutscene
Cleaning what I hope with all my heart is the last of these damned side quests before I do the final story mission
they would just keep popping up
You ever beat XV? i liked xvs ending but it was kinda bittersweet like this so I was just hoping the main character would survive this time so the ambiguity was enough for me to like this end more
I never played XV at all. This the first 3D one I have played front to back. I have played final fantasy tactics advanced. 3d strategy games I more lean xcom
them niggas had me thinking Joshua turned to the dark side
you aint seen nothing yet brother
what part you at?
