I think 13 is ass tbh and dropped the game around the time I got to the "open world" part
The chapters with those two were the best though for sure
I been enjoying my time with the game but its like a 5.5 or 6 to me tbh. Game has a lot of flaws, specially with the story (i still dont really get all this Pulse and Fa'Ciel stuff and im in chapter 9, they dont explain s***, among other bad things it has) and the level design is horrible
Specially after just playing and loving 12, XIII really pales in comparition, but i did come with low expectations so im still having fun

Yeah exactly. I think 12 is a masterpiece and to be followed up by what 13 was such a letdown. It's not a total abomination or anything but I'd rather just play something else you know.

Yeah this is interesting actually. I thought it would be open world like xv was. Gonna be I interesting to see what type of direction they go. Wouldn't mind something similar to ffxii or even ffx. I hope there are multiple modes of transportation like boats, chocobos, and maybe even some other kind of vehicle but I dont know what time period this takes place in.
Yoshida: One of the main themes explored in Final Fantasy XVI's narrative deals with the inevitable clash of values and ideals when you get multiple different people with different ideals in the same room; what is truly right and what is truly wrong? Again, because we focus so much on their Dominants, and they have such a large part in this story, you're going to see how they think the world should be and what they think is right for the world. You're going to focus on those motivations and those struggles, and then, you're going to delve even deeper and into darker themes when it comes to how people should live; should people live the life that was chosen for them or fight to break free from that kind of destiny?
It seems like XVI fits right in with the Tactics Ogre / Vagrant Story lineage of games. Yoshida is a huge fan of Matsuno and even brought him in to work on XIV so I wonder if he’ll be credited on this.
Yoshida: ...how the story and the narrative progresses is that we follow the life of Clive Rossville through three different stages: his teens, his 20s, and his 30s.
Very excited about this; it’s what I thought XV was going to be like when it opened with the flashforward to the Ifrit fight. It would be cool if the narrative jumped back and forth between different periods of Clive’s life but this wording makes it seem more like a linear narrative across time.

Gonna be really interesting to see how the world and other characters changes throughout those decades

It also plays in to Maehiro’s writing style of depicting a world (e.g. Ishgard) and having the characters extend from it to represent the different facets of its society (Estinien, Ysayle, Aymeric, Hilda, etc.).
Demo is very much possible!

Can’t believe we’re getting both this and Rebirth in the same year
Yeah but technically "winter 2023" goes into 2024 so wouldn't be surprised is Rebirth ended up getting releases early 2024. Would he dope though to get both next year for sure
