    GG fellas xx

just finished Crisis Core Reunion, im so ready for this

I just can’t get over the fact that they wasted the Reunion subtitle on that re-release.

I was utterly convinced that’d be the title of the third game. It just seems so perfect.

I swear to God if it ends up being goddamn “Revelations” or some dumb s*** like that.

    AKA SB

I would start with the original FF7 before playing Remake

I don’t really like games with that slow old school turn-based combat style

I can tell what’s fun for me, just like with Baldur’s gate 3, my instinct was that the combat would be boring but I bought it anyways because of peer pressure and it ended up being 100+ hours of the most excruciating, boring f***ing combat of my life where you’re literally sitting there for 10 minutes while 50 other units slowly take their turn. The story was fantastic though and kept me playing, but I’m not gonna risk it with ff7 og. Especially when there’s a remake that literally fixes that one problem.

Damn that’s unfortunate about BG3; I’m still looking forward to playing it one day.

Turn-based combat in og FF7 is kinda of a mixed bag for me cus you don’t have much time to think over your command selection since the enemy can attack you if you take too long to make a move, but at the same time that’s what’s fresh about its approach to turn-based combat cus it keeps you on your toes.

And modern ports of FF7 have QOL features that let you speed up the gameplay x3 times faster and skip random battle encounters, so overall playing the game doesn’t feel like a slog.

I think playing og FF7 is essential from a narrative perspective; the story beats hit harder in the original.
The Remake project is meant to be a reimagined version of the original by also being a sequel. I highly recommend you try og FF7, especially as your first FF. Sure the game looks outdated, but the story and characters more than make up for it.

But it’s totally fine if you don’t want to of course; I know I don’t like to be pushed to do something I don’t want to do lmao

hindering your enjoyment a ton by not playing the OG first

  • Going back and watching reviews on remake and its hilarious how angry people were. I was to busy playing the game to notice people were mad at it at the time but holy s***
His opinions are valid of course, but its hilarious how much he fumes about it

Why are the reviews dropping so early? Dont they usually drop the same week as the game?

I hate turn based combat too (literally only play them if they have a speed up function or non-random encounters or both) but I and others itt will tell u the remakes are not a replacement for the OG, so much s*** is playing on the fact that you know what happens already and making story changes accordingly

if that doesn't convince you then whatever but the story is straight up told 100x better in the og without anime grunting and extremely stilted voice acting and is actually paced very f***in well for an rpg

this makes me sound like I hate 7 remake but im just tryna communicate how much of it would've fell flat for me if I didn't play the og

They’re apparently really confident in it.
