It’s funny he says this isn’t going to be a hangout movie and then compared it to Jackie brown, when he’s also said that he thinks the first half of Jackie brown is a hangout movie until the scheme happens.

To be fair QT gave him 230 pages. That's entirely unworkable unless the film was going to be 3.5-4 hours. He gave a script larger than both Kill Bills combined. A dense 170 is what QT himself would normally go for on his longer films.

Don't think any reasonable expectation was to direct 230 pages. He just had an abundance to go off of. Fincher's known to chop down excess.

Wait why? The script was mad long bro. QT gave him 200 plus pages and it’s still 140min long

Facts. Tarantino also said “I gave Fincher a plethora of material to work with. I didn’t just hand over a script, he has everything so he can pick and choose what to use and have his options”

    Interesting thanks for the info

Still tho that’s a lot of content we losing unless a novel version comes out

Shoulda shot it all and edited it down, that way we could get a mini series version down the line like with the hateful 8

It’s not just that I been seeing a lot of sketchy stuff, like Netflix giving him way less money than he asked for to make the movie, which is insane when you see the money spent on some of these slop Netflix originals like rebel moon or the JLo in a robot movie

They saying that’s why he split from Netflix too, which makes me wonder if he’s unhappy with the final product and is blaming Netflix for cheaping out

    Hope I’m wrong obv

Yeah I mean Netflix should throw unlimited money at Tarantino/Fincher rather than slop.

Lol but then why you said “fuck this guy”?

Yeah. That’s what this all sensibly adds up to. It’s gonna suck or he’s gonna be unhappy with it. And after hearing about the 60 pages he cut — this all sounds like it could be a half-assed forced Netflix production as they become more desperate be known as a gouge that can also deliver prestige content. Recent layoffs are interesting timing too. Bad studios produce bad movies.

Im holding onto faith. IMO Tarantino has never written anything bad. Cliffs character is dope. I love Fincher, so to me it seems impossible for this movie to suck lol

If this movie is anything less than great (and worst case scenario actively mid), would that be the biggest collab fumble in modern film?
