the internet that most of us grew up on isn't even comparable to what it is nowadays. You had to specifically go out of your way and know where to find vile disturbing content. Nowadays it's just a click or two away from the feed on social networking homepages.

I like almost agree with you. The internet's not comparable to what we grew up with, but it wasn't hard to come across disturbing content. I mean I was pranking people with meatspin, tubgirl, goatse, bluewaffle, you know on and on. Forums would get raided all the time where people would make tons of threads with wild s***. Saw a picture still scarred me to this day.

But I think a huge difference is, I saw that on my computer at home after school or some s***. No one else in my class had to see that s***. Lot of them didn't know to use a computer. The ones that did knew basic internet literacy. Not to believe everything we see, not to give out our personal information, that type of s***.

Now, everyone has a computer in their hands at all times. And none of them have any internet literacy. And they can't stay off of it. Now everyone's seeing images of dead bodies across their twitter feed. S*** imagine the average screentime of kids these days, and then imagine you spending that same amount of time in your room on your computer. It's not possible, cuz at least you'd have to leave the screen and go to school or socialize. Now the screens with them at all times and they use it to socialize. We were told never to put our personal information online, they're playing out their whole personal life online.

idk i'm high and rambling but i guess my points the difference between now and then is that there's been an explosion of users online in the last decade, users that can be online all the time, with so many not being aware of the power and dangers of the internet.

I think the difference is also perspective on generational usage. When the last generation used the internet, there was a mostly latent understanding that there was a difference between the internet and real life. It was insanely taboo to show your face even if you were an adult, there was still fears about the safety of online shopping, and usernames were essentially separate entities - underage people would always lie about their age because them using the internet wasn’t an extension of them irl. The modern internet - besides frequency and expanse - is simply not the same because it’s integrated and normalized. Something like Meatspin wouldn’t even be a “shock site” anymore because kids have direct access to actual p***, it’s no longer some forbidden taboo that there implied shame for accessing because of the nature of the web

I feel like this has to be learned behavior.

They are likely being abused at home

  • CrimsonArk

I guess it’s just a question if it’s a matter of personal experience (ie molestation) or p*** exposure.

The fact that multiple kids participated makes it utterly bizarre. Like was one kid telling the others what to do?

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anything like this. Not this young.

I don’t want to outright go to p*** since I don’t know the full details but I think it’s a heavy possibility that’s hard to doubt since usually molested people wouldn’t immediately act like this at such a young age, statistically it takes years for such behavior (and even understanding of what happened) to surface

Even with watching insane gore back in the day I feel like it was a little different because most people would see it and recognize it as taboo if because of the reason they recognized they shouldn’t be watching it. That distinction of self-knowledge of “shame” prevented it from leaking into direct behavioral influences

Correct me if I'm wrong: but there is absolutely no reason for a child to have unhinged internet access and an iPhone at a young age. The internet that most of us grew up on isn't even comparable to what it is nowadays. You had to specifically go out of your way and know where to find vile disturbing content. Nowadays it's just a click or two away from the feed on social networking homepages.

It's fully big tech's fault for this, they knew the damages that this technology could do, and they chose to ignore for profit.

i’m telling you other than the obvious atrocities that’s happened during this time the biggest thing they will be reading about in history is big tech/social media impact on us

This is true . I didn’t even really find p*** until i hit puberty which makes sense. I also was semi tech savvy and curious but there was a lot of barriers i had to cross to even accidentally find the crazy s*** that i did. Nowadays you will see it just scrolling social media on accident which makes it prone to be seen as young as possible which is wild.

School boards LOVE hiding s*** like this from parents

There’s a famous case local to me where a parent had to send in her special needs child with a recording device hidden in her hair to uncover the abuse the entire disabled body of students was experiencing under a couple teachers at an elementary school

School board literally tried to sue the mom for doing what she could to protect her child

don’t mind him bro. Keep doing you

Mf got a boner from a random pic of Kali Uchis and wants to start a fkn stupid argument. You can see girls in lingerie in public swimming pools or beaches wtf if you think sexually about it then you’re the h**** creep f*** and the problem - not the girl wearing langerie. Mans acts like I have a nude pic of her as my avy. How can you even look in the mirror with a soul that stupid.
I‘m obviously talking about extreme s*** like B****es showing their t*** naked on IG, live moaning on Twitch streams sucking D****s on twitter etc. I‘m not even saying that we should ban all p*** on the internet (which isn‘t even realistic) - just more control about what kind of content is being pushed on mainstream social media or restrictive access on p*** websites/sexual content. Everybody can access p***hub but most kids cam not access betting websites without parents. And for me, KTT isn‘t a website where a typical 10 year old should be on with the amount of negative bs people are posting here and let’s not act like KTT is a forum with a lot of kids neither most people here are teenagers minimum can‘t say that about IG/Tik Tok or any other platforms. The username discussion is f***ing stupid and irrelevant too but yea go off. Americans think everything is about extreme conversatism versus progressivism when there‘s something like actual common sense in the middle ground.

    The mental gymnastics

    • kids shouldn’t be on KTT

They shouldn’t be on instagram or any social media platform either. You saying at the very least there are teenagers on here (below the age of 18 aka the age to view sexual material) yet having XXX in your username is a part of the problem.

    • my username having XXX is irrelevant

Again, it has ALWAYS been synonymous with p***ography. Always. The literal definition of it is p***ographic, you jumping through hoops to rationalize it is LITERALLY what you are calling others r€ards for

    • women go to swimming pools and beaches in lingerie

No they do not, there is a clear difference between swim wear like what is worn at those places vs lingerie like what is shown in your profile pic and the intention of each

You are contributing to the normalization that you are speaking out against, how that is not clear to you I do not understand

"They shouldn’t be on instagram or any social media platform either." I agree. But the point is that most kids are on IG/TikTok if they get to have social media. The more kids are on a platform the more restrictive the content of the website should be. And that can only be controlled through the creator of the site not users realistically. The REAL big problem for me is p***sites being really easily accessible tho. The parents are ofc the most important factor when it comes to internet access for kids but you can only do so much as a parent without being crazy oppressive.

And the username argument is still irrelevant man idk what to tell you because like I said I’m talking about actual OPENLY sexual content being pushed on social media on for you pages everyday to thousands of kids. Me as a irrelevant user on this site having xxx in my username is not the same as videos like women moaning stripping pushing OF and men wanting to f*** getting seen on a everyday basis.
I don‘t get how you can‘t see the difference. You thinking about s***when you see Kali Uchis is because you’re h****. you interpreting the xxx in my username xxxkiraxxx as a p*** synonym is because you have reference point to know what that could mean. Most kids wouldn’t even interpret that off the username/most likely ignore it (not even read it) or try to find meaning in that username and won’t think about s***when seeing a Kali Uchis pic on a random music forum post like you do.

And if you read the thread you can see that I‘m pro sexual education for kids through their parents/school. It’s all about balance.

Beautifully put; It's almost like a full 180 of what we were told. The biggest problem is the 'mainstreamificaiton' and corporatization of the internet at this point. With everyone being localized to one specific platform, the only way that something will get attention is through controversy.

Actually a few weeks ago made a post on this (if you're interested in reading) but basically everything you said is true. ktt2.com/dj-akademiks-thread-123794/84
