tbh transitioning is only ever really “complete” when the person feels comfortable. transitioning for some people can just be wearing clothes that alleviate dysphoria, while for others it can be the whole nine yards (surgery, voice training, hormones etc etc)

transitioning doesn’t have to fit into a box, its all just a process to reaching a state of contentness with yourself (contentness is not a word lmao)

well no s*** but a booming market that doesn't cover gender reassignment surgery is something that would need to make progress. Because trans people and parents cant magically always afford it but their entire life would change if they didn't get the surgery or possibly end early

oh thanks you helped me learn a lot. I wish kids and teens were gotten into therapy earlier. This applies to all kids and teens. That way they could feel comfortable expressing things and processing things. Maybe perhaps then society would believe in them more who knows. Society should obviously believe in them and give them free will either way. We live in a sick society that often wants to control others than focus on themselves. Control their kids , kids kids and others kids out of irrational fear of change.

People can get health care with their jobs in some situations if they pay for it which would cover their children which is why I asked. If all gender reassignment was out of pocket that raises issues.

I could of course google cost of gender reassignment surgery or how insurance covers it but wanted to ask , learn and see if its something that can be improved

I’m actually not against the surgery being disapproved for children but i don’t like how republicans want government out of everything then the second they want something they use government to ban or help things they like. If you want true freedom people should be allowed to do the surgery if they can afford it

as someone who admittedly self identifies as cisgender i don't think you get to make authoritative claims on if transgender kids think about gender before 18

When I said kids I didn't try to mean it in a dismissive way to transgender kids. I more meant kids in general which would largely include cisgender kids. Obviously its on the minds of transgender and non binary kids more or those that are more on the fence. I do see the sentence before could connect in an odd way making it sound like trans kids haven't put thought into it.

Its a poorly construed sentence there. If someone decides to go through with gender reassignment surgery as I try to make clear at the end of that post I am all for it and I know a lot of thought went into that process.

Also identify as Non Binary but thats irrelevant. I partially mention it because identity wise I didn't more come into the idea of being non binary myself until after 18 I would say or didn't even know about all the possibilities at my time of growing up
