not for applauding yt ppl for stuff they should be doing but this is kinda the way of drumming

allman brother break is everywhere it’s just the nature of drums i guess

Yep if amen brother didn’t exist like there would multiple genres which hadn’t exist

Though the guy which made amen brother didn’t get his first check until very recently

it's true that there's a similarity between sampling and "borrowing" but the difference is the former is (generally) credited while the latter is not

There's a balance. He's talented but again it just shows how influential black musicians are. Caucasian Europeans are venerated as these amazing musicians/artists when it's really them using our chops (Foo Fighter), licks, runs, style (elvis), flow (Non-Action Bronson), overall our stories because 99.9% of their culture doesn't have rhythm.

They'll win awards over actual talents (Macklemore). I guarantee there's a higher percentage of nirvana listeners on this site than Gap or Cameo listeners.

Not really disputing that but most of these white acts generally give praise to older artists (the black acts). Elvis did the same thing. He even admitted he can't make music like black people. I'd also say most people on this website don't listen to anything that isn't mainstream or pre-90s so it does make sense why they wouldn't know who the gap band is lol.

They didn't even play the drums or synthesize them or anything themselves though it can get into lazy territory when using someone else's work if they don't do much else with those samples
