The world has a clear rising power, and other emerging economies that has shifted the world from unipolar hegemony. Transitions like that were always going to be turbulent. Even the worlds biggest conflicts right now like Russia/Ukraine or Gaza have decades of tension packed in that also that lie outside of BRICS
BRICS at best is a "personification" of sorts of the idea that the world is changing and new countries are in better position to get what they want. It's not NATO, G7, EU, etc... its literally just a club of developing nations who now need to figure out how to safeguard their own trade networks. It gives an excuse for trading with Russia or Iran. It also doesn't stop you from partnering with the US (ex. India, Saudi, UAE). Like India benefits from increased US investment and moving manufacturing from China. Will it then turn around and try to intentionally kill USD or even try to help China? F*** no. Saudi ain't dropping US security guarantees for BRICS but they do have a fall back now if relations go south

BRICS itself isn't a threat. It's existed as basically a talk-shop between emerging economies for 15+ years. The only thing that's changed is a global reaction to US sanctions on Russia that deterred trust in USD. If US can start freezing reserves and using them for war funds, they can do it to anyone. So now everyone is looking to slightly de-dollarize where they can including BRICS thinking about their own internal group currency that would protect against USD sanctions.
People have this fantastical idea that BRICS is a NATO-like alliance or the G7. There's no binding treaty here its just a club of countries (some of which don't like each other) that understand the importance of working on key issues as developing states.
There's not going to be some flip in economic systems over this, but it sped up developments that otherwise coulda taken another decade. USD is still the world's reserve currency and will stay that way unless the US f***s it up. BRICS ads pressure sure but not as some evil plan to hurt U.S, its cus they need to save their asses

I’m a dual citizen and I’ve lived abroad a good amount of my adult life and will probably continue to do so but the US is by far the best place to make money in the world (low risk, many opportunities, high reward) and it will be so for the foreseeable future
